Hi all, I'm after some advice.
I've done BJJ for years, and never wear a chest protector. However, I've just had a year off due to a pregnancy. I'm getting ready to go back to training, but my breasts are not going to cope with going unprotected, since they're sensitive from breastfeeding. I have a chestplate-style karate chest protector, but it's so inflexible that if I'm in any position other than standing upright, the edges dig in. I tried on another one the other day which was like a bra but with hard cups, but it was a shape that in no way resembled my natural contours, and it dug into the squishy bits and was not good. Surely I'm not the only woman who's gone back to BJJ after having a baby - does anyone have any advice???

Buy one specifically made for martial artists. You're probably gonna have to buy it on line. Their are literally dozens of martial arts suppliers on line. Do a google search and see what you come up with. Good Luck.

Have you looked at vinyl dipped foam? >> http://www.martialartsmart.net/10-791.html I'm at a loss for advise but wanted to say congratulations! ~R.

Good idea Hardball - I just posted it there. I've posted on another bjj/mma forum.
Tant01, that one you posted looks like it might move around a bit when grappling... I think I'm going to go on a road trip to Sydney with my friend (and my baby), and try them on, and actually grapple with my friend a bit in the shop to see what they're like LOL!

This is like the one I have http://www.cjmas.com/index.php?main_...oducts_id=2511
I haven't found a pic yet that's like the one I tried on. I was thinking maybe this one would be OK http://www.fitness-shop.com.au/popup_image.php?pID=150 - there's a crop top, which would hold everything firm and securely in place, I guess?

the sessions are long cause i like to sit at my comp and puff on big bags of vapor from the time i get home till its time to go train. then i need to blaze again when i get home to relax from training so hard, so i keep on blazing till i go to sleep. i have badass dreams every night too from going to sleep high. very vivid and detailed. |
