Can’t find any clips as of yet, but I saw it here in the UK.

The Penn vs Stevenson fight should have been stopped. Stevenson lost over a pint and a half of blood through the terrible cut on his head from Penn’s elbow. The imagery of that fight will be damaging to the sport, the shot of Penn mounted on Stevenson whose face which is just a mass of blood will be splashed all over the British press tomorrow, with renewed calls for the sport to be banned here. Penn really didn’t help matters by walking up to the camera and licking his opponent’s blood off his gloves like some kind of sick asshole, great advert for the sport.

He ended up making a dick of himself though, because he got on the mic and starts saying “Shaun Sherk, you are dead, the belt is mine”. What he maybe didn’t realise is that Sherk was there, and he walked into the Octagon and called Penn out on it. Penn disappeared up his own ass and said something politely apologetic, then swiftly left the scene.

The fight of the night was Paul Taylor vs Paul Kelly. From the first second of the first round those guys went at it 110%, and didn’t stop until the end. Taylor received a cut on his head too, also from an elbow, but the cut guys did a great job and he was OK to carry on. The stand up was excellent, both have Boxing background, and the ground control and defence was great to watch. A superb fight made all the better by the mutual respect and friendship the fighters showed all the way through, the fight received a standing ovation.

Some other good fights, some other not so good, the ref stepping in a little too early on some fights, and yet leaving others to carry on in a total bloodbath. UFC is always a rather bemusing event to watch.

It was a great fight...Joe's a top fighter but Penn still managed to make beating him look relatively easy.

I'd like to see both GSP and BJ clear out their divisions then have a rematch.

Did anyone else have trouble with their reception? Mine was a pixelated mess the majority of the evening.

My reception was fine. Did everyone else notice BJ Penn licking the blood off his gloves while Stevenson cried in the corner?
