I am truly shocked, that Cung Le is fighting Frank Shamrock.
Having trained with Le before I know he is quite the athlete, also being at Shamrocks last fight was a joke. I had never seen a fighter DQ'd for one mistake. Usually it's just a point loss, but not an entire DQ. Other than that he's been on a tear. Now don't get me wrong, Cung Le is a great striker, but there are just some fights you are not supposed to take. I look for this fight to be over quickly. |

Yes, I agree - when I first heard about this I was surprised! Not often do we see a guy with 30+ MMA fights go against someone with 5 MMA fights.
Knowing a little bit about this business, Frank probably set it up for his company ProElite. |

Actually I think Cung is pretty good and his Sanda Throwdowns should come in handy to control Frank's wrestling. It should be a good match, but its just not really fair to have someone with so much experience in MMA go against a basically a noob - we just dont see this often!

Come on, who has Cung fought that is any good at all? I mean, it's easy to look like a martial arts stud fighting handpicked putzes. He gets all of these accolades for being 'fighter of the year' and this and that in the martial art mags, but if you wanna be known as a great fighter, then you have to fight GREAT opponents. By avoiding the octagon, he seems to have done a very good job of avoiding greatness, whether he realizes it or not. No true mma fan thinks of him as a great fighter on a par with Penn, Hughes, St. Pierre, Couture, Liddell, etc. These guys seek out the toughest opponents/competition out there and face 'em head on.

We will see...
I hope he destroys Shamrock. THAT would be worth paying for.

Looks like Ninjaboy and Juju made the same mistake as Shamrock... Never under estimate your opponent... I've seen both of these guys fight and in my humble opinion Le is clearly superior.
I usually don't try to predict winners or losers because the reality is we just never know. Hopefully you lost lots of cash betting on your MMA boy! LMAO! Frank will have many weeks to consider the error of his way, painful memories and scars from the surgical measures to repair those bones! I wish him a speedy recovery and hope we will see a rematch down the road.

I could see Frank knocking Le out cold easily, ground and pound would surely have put Le at a disadvantage but that didn't happen (this time)...
Too bad for Shamrock fans. I wanted to see the trademark kanibasami with a back (hammer) fist but that didn't happen either... maybe next time (if there is a next time) We will see...
