Honestly, I think Lesnar's going to win. Don't get me wrong, I'll be rooting for Mir the whole time but I don't think he can really take someone that much bigger and stronger than him these days. Before his motorcycle accident, maybe, but definitely not now.

Pro wresting is staged with heels, good guys and story lines. LOL

I'm not saying pro wrestlers can't fight, I'm just saying they are paid to follow the predetermined story line.

brock lesnar was a hardcore college wrestler before he was a pro wrestler. he is one of those superathlete types. look how big his lats are man, even if i stuffed rolls of socks into my shirts i would never have lats that big.

did you see brocks first mma match?? he punched the dude in the face a few times from half guard, didnt even bother to pass, and it was over. look at this, this guy is no joke......

I'm so proud of Mir! I screamed and clapped when he sunk that kneebar in. I was getting kind of worried in the beginning because Lesnar was laying down the shots and Mir couldn't establish his guard.

As for Noguiera, I wasn't too impressed with his takedown skills. His takedown attempts were basically bending over at the waist and reaching for a leg. Also seemed like Sylvia pretty much gave up every time they hit the ground.

Oh and did anybody else notice the surprising number of finishes by guillotine for one card?

Brock-Buster! Mir submits LesnarBy Thomas Gerbasi

WWE superstar Brock Lesnar looked like he was going to have his way with former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir in his Octagon debut tonight at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. But at this level of the game, it only takes one mistake to end up on the losing end of the equation, and Mir proved it, submitting Lesnar 90 seconds into the opening round.

“No excuses, he’s a top-notch jiu-jitsu guy and he got me tonight. He’s the better fighter,” said Lesnar, a former NCAA wrestling champion who drops to 1-1 in pro mixed martial arts.

Within seconds of the opening bell, Lesnar had dumped Mir on the canvas and started reigning down blows. An inadvertent shot to the back of the head by Lesnar forced a stoppage of the action and a deduction of a point by referee Steve Mazzagatti though, and gave Mir a chance to clear his head.

And while he would be put on the mat a second time, now by a right hand from Lesnar, this time Mir would weather the storm while fighting to sink in an armbar, and as Lesnar looked to finish, Mir grabbed his leg and sunk in the fight-ending kneebar.

“I went for a couple of armbar attempts, but look at the guy’s arms,” said Mir. “His legs were a little leaner, so I attack the neck or the legs on a big guy because they’re always vulnerable.”

It was the Las Vegan’s biggest win since a motorcycle accident sidelined him in 2004.

“I had Brock Lesnar dropping elbows on my head and I still pulled through and grabbed a submission,” said Mir, now 11-3.

As for Lesnar, his 90 seconds of work did show promise, and in turn, he promises to return to the Octagon to chase after the heavyweight crown.

“You win some and you lose some,” said Lesnar. “I’d like to win them all, but you can’t.”

i cant believe you thought Brock was gonna beat Mir. i mean, Brock did impress me on his 2 lightning quick takedowns which were more like pushes, and his ground and pound. But it was painfully obvious that it was only a matter of time before he was gonna get armbarred or leglocked before and during the fight. im just glad Kurt Angle, the Undertaker and Stone Cold (who were in cage side seats) didnt jump over the fence and bash Mir over the head with a steal chair.

brock is such beast though! he was actually pretty dominant till that kneebar got slapped on. i was pretty skeptical of mir, cause he was hella fat the last time we saw him, while brock has always been cut out of stone. but this video further proves that you cant really judge fighting skill on looks alone. im actually glad that skill was able to beat brute strength in this fight.

brock will be back, he has a lot of potential.

Mir was in shape against Hardonk at UFC 74, and i watched his prefight interviews and he was very determined. in the publics' eyes, this makes MMA more legit because you have a real fighter making a behemoth pro wrestler TAP OUT when thats something pro wrestlers are usually trained to make other pro wrestlers do.
