I want to know how many people on here trained in like Karate on Kung Fy or something like that before they heard about BJJ or Submission?I know I did.I put 6 years of my life into it before BJJ came along.

In the past I trained in Karate but it did not make me a Lethal Weapon. Even with some Bjj experience I still don't consider myself a Lethal Weapon.

Cool

LoL, I have a good story on this subject. About a year ago i was in karate and had a brown belt w/black stripe. This took about 3 years to get and i thought iwas pretty badass cuz ya know, i was a brownbelt. So anyway, I found this guy in a yahoo chat that said he trained inBrazilian Jiu Jitsu. I proceeded to talk smack to him and saying how the only things that some from Brazil are venieral diseases and soccer balls (As i was ignorant at the time of what BJJ was). Later that summer one of my friends and I got into a submission wrestling match. He is about 2 inches shorter but 20 pounds lighter than me and basically owned my "brown belt ass". So I realized karate was too one-dimensional for me and started training in BJJ where i have been getting my ass kicked ever since. The end.

Yes, when I was an 18-year-old brown belt I was indestructible.

Fortunately, by the time the UFC rolled around, I had already realized that maybe I wasn't so tough. In fact, I saw the UFC right before I got my black belt. It definitely made me question whether a lifetime perfecting kata would be well-spent.

Answer: No.
