Matt Serra is Renzo Gracie's top American student and black belt. He has dominated pretty much every grappling event he has entered (his brother, Nick, who is a brown belt under Renzo, just won the east coast grappler's quest absolute). Matt is also 3-0 (i believe in smaller MMA contests). He was supposed to fight Johil De Oliviera at Pride - but Johil got burnt by the pyrotechnics and coudln't fight. I can't wait to see Matt in the UFC. Him and BJ Penn are two Americans that could really energize the sport in the lighter weight classes (in my opinion). Hope that helps.

I don't believe a top grappler will just enter the MMA world and be a top fighter like in the old days. I need to know what other fight attributes they got and how they fared in their matches...
