I'd say Savate, too. Only those arts that can smoothly and efficiently be adapted into mma will ever get any respect. Considering the differences in rules (shoes vs. no shoes), we're not likely to see it incorporated into mma. On the flip side, Karo managed to effectively use judo in the ufc even without a gi and tons of guys have adapted bjj to mma without a gi, so maybe we're just waiting for the right athlete to adapt it (savate) to the ufc, right? J~

its not savate, savate is reasonable but its not exceptional. it doesnt have anything new as such. its like a modification on kickboxing. hardly groundbreaking.

sport savate yes, but there are very hardcore SD oriented styles of savate that were street tested for many years and include the use of weapons like stick, knife, and even chairs.

I gotta defend Tai Chi. Because of all the tree hugging hippie-esce people who have bastardized it into some hipster old people health nut crap. Tai Chi is actually very effective.

Most people just don't want to put in the time and think it's some airy fairy crap due to western cultures view of it. In fact it seems to me western culture as hurt a lot of Asian arts.

HAHAHA LMAO.

i think its not really savate, its savate with bits on so its not savate any more.
its based on savate and probably has all of savate but to call it savate as an entire system.... not sure about that one.

Salem Assli talked about this a little at his last seminar. He says that Savate was always anything goes and that though things are added to the system, they were added fairly early on - including material from Jujitsu. You can check out a short clip of him showing a Savate throw with my instructor at YouTube - Savate Throw - and given this is the MMA section let me point out that I am aware this is not sparring and my instructor is not resisting (though he did not know what was coming and was pretty surprised).

application of techinique is jkd.

im fairly sure savate doesnt include these moves, this is a jkd guy adding jkd moves into savate. i can tell that from the way he moves.

Dominique Fontanarosa is a good friend of mine and is savate world champ, never seen him teach anything like that before or even mention it.

Not so sure about that. If its an unfair reputation, its one fairly earned. Go to any big city in China and stroll the public parks and the vast majority of folks doing taiji are old folks getting some exercise and not fighting masters honing their deadly skills. Can't blame 'da West' for that.

If you consider wrestling a martial art , then i think it is very underrated among people who are not into real fighting in general. Boxing too. Most people think of Karate and TKD being so deadly especially if youre a black belt in one of them...
