Man, i started busting out laughing when i first saw that black dudes facial expression.
YYYYYYMMMMCA! I guess to misinformed people they think it looks gay. Which, honestly, to a point it does, but only if you actually like rolling with dudes on the ground...not for combat.

True
Romans used to compete in all their sports including wrestling in the nude. Less or no clothes takes away many advantages in grappling. The only thing that makes you gay is if dudes turn you on.

Clothes give an advantage to your opponent. When Royce fought Kimo he used Kimo's glove to pull Kimo into an arm bar.
Some Japanese arts teach you to grab and wrap your opponents sleeve or pant leg to control or immobilize the limb trapped in it. Or to use the persons collar to choke the out. Watch any Jackie Chan flick and you'll most likely see somebody's clothes being used to whoop their ass.

Yes, I'm aware of those techniques. I used to love the jackie chan movies when i was a small kid.
But yeh I can see why clothes are a weapon for you to use in the situation which allows it.
