    WTF... "Severn" choke???

Why do folks insist on giving every variation of the Hadaka jime a new name?

Severn used a clasping hands (Judo) RNC and now it's HIS CHOKE?

I don't get it... Why not give some credit to his coach? Call it a Tripp choke or just hadaka jime? Before UFC 5 it was just RNC. Now it's a Severn choke?

What a load. Does Matt H know JUDO from MMA? I wonder?

Lets make new names for everything! In FACT lets have multiple names for the exact same techniques!

Severn choke, LeBell choke, Tripp choke, Judo choke, Rear naked choke, my choke, your choke....

    what a joke choke...

Not to be confused with chicken choke...

Nap choke, tap choke, UFC choke, MMA choke...

Say it with me; HADAKA Jime!

Dumb ass thread I know... Just venting.

Some folks resent the Japanese name I guess.

When a technique has a name from a TMA it's hard to steal it and act like you invented it.

You think? That would be an odd reason.

Seems to me if a guy had any class at all and didn't KNOW a name for something he'd find out what it's called or at least name it for the guy who taught him the trick?

Give SOME credit to the real "masters" of the craft.

Case in point, the so called "Kimura"...

Lets say lineage doesn't mean squat for a moment.

Do you still have some affiliation?

    Are you "friends"?

Nope, it's all about ME these days, eh?

My move, my throw, my choke...

When I see fighters pull this name game with old holds it's always "My Judo"

    Why?

My fault, I thought you were talking about the actual BJJ players and judoka.

I'm done dude... Just happens I know the Judo coach that uses and teaches that particular strangulation... The guy who taught Severn his hold...
