    MMA in the Military

There's an interesting article in today's NY Times about the growing popularity of MMA in military circles.

Nice choke hold at the end. It helps justify MMA, when it's being used in the military.

The Military need to know what really works and what does not. Fighting techniues in MMA have been proven over and over again. They should all be great MMA fighters but also no that sometimes they do not want to grapple on the ground but end the fight quick via standing

Aside from the obvious practical benifits. No sport develops the warrior spirt and espirt de corps than MMA. Due to deployment concerns these guys need to stay healthy and uninjured, thats why we came up with the rules for Pankration.

good article. its a good move by the military to implement modern training methods into the soldiers arsenal. the training is good for instilling the 'fighting' or 'combat' mindset.
