![]() | With all that being said I think people love Iron Mike because he is a tough fighter. Don't get me wrong I know he has been beaten by Douglas and Holyfield but he never got smoked by one punch. Tyson will put HEAT on his opponents until he wins or HE IS DECISIVELY BEATEN. Tyson will not get knocked out by one single punch like Lewis did twice before. To defeat Iron Mike you would have to go through HELL and take a beating before you would win. ( and boxing fans admire that. ) I know some people will point to the ear inccident to say Tyson punked out in purpose in that fight. I don't know for certain but I will have to dissagree. I feel Tyson felt he was head butted on purpose and he basically went nuts and wanted the fight to be equalized. Mike decided the only way to equalize the fight is to bite Evanders ear. I really feel Mike Tyson wanted the fight to go on with Holyfield. Even after Evander went nuts after Tyson bite his ear, Mike was anxious to mix it up with Holyfield and waved Evander to mix it up with him. I guess my point is people like Mike Tyson because he fights with such ferocity. Even if he were to loose he would loose by deveastating punishment unlike the single shot that put Lewis asleep. |

![]() | Tyson is very agresive and powerfull that is why he is liked by the masses. But he didnt take that much punishment against Douglas and remember he bit Holyfield twice and ripped the ear right off the second time. To me he is a low life scum rapist. Remember that he has repeatedly fouled in his previous matches: Botha (twisting arm), Norris (hit after bell), Savarese (hit after the ref stoped it and almost KOed the ref) not to mention that in his prime he used his elbows several times so its like he was the choir boy against bad old Holyfield. I repect real warriors like Berrera, Tyson is just a bully to me and does not deserve the talent he was born with. I wish he would fight Tua so I could see him down again, or better yet share a jail cell with Ibeabuchi who would make him his bitch. |

![]() | It is natural for different psyches to view situations in drastically different manners. For instance I choose not to discredit the fallen warrior but rather I acknowledge the warrior who shows he has the spirit to overcome his opponents, and other obstacles which present themselves in life. I am not a fan of boxing, per se, but I do believe it has it's similarities with actual combat.

![]() | oh come now, holyfield is just as (or more so) a dirty fighter than tyson. he talks all his religous crap to look like an angel, he is far from it. tyson would break tua in 2 pieces if they were to fight today. tua has no warrior mentality like tyson or the mexican fighters like morrales and barrera. his fight against lewis was one of the most pathetic events in boxing I have ever seen. I agree, tyson goes for it whether he is knocked out or does the knocking out. no tip toeing around the ring when he's in there. you have to admire that. |

![]() | I never said Holyfield was not dirty beacause he isa dirty boxer I was just pointing out that Tyson is just as dirty. Tua has the best chin of any active current heavyweight. Tyson even when he was younger and faster could not KO every oponent and had trouble with mediocre heavies like Razor Roddock/Buster Douglas that stood up to him, his agresive style matches well for Tua. Your the first person I have heard ever say that Tyson could KO Tua as early as two rounds, I find that very doubtfull. |

![]() | Fil I do agree to some of your opinions yet I feel your not being objective. I'm taking about boxing here not what he does outside the ring. I feel your definitely using your dislike of Mike Tyson to cloud your objectivity. If Tyson was not being punished by Douglas then why was Mike's eye the size of a baseball after the fight. Look I'm simply saying that Lewis is a great fighter yet he has been KO'd twice by ONE SINGLE PUNCH. Yes the public is drawn to Tyson by his power, and his crazyness. But even now as Tyson ages and has oviously lost his skills I WILL PROMISE YOU that he will fight and put pressure till he wins or gets knocked out. And if he does get knocked out I'm sure his opponents would have gone through considerable pain in the process of winning. Like I said I like Lewis but I'd rather see a Heavyweight champion who lives up to being heavyweight champion. Lewis is a great fighter but his chin will always keep him away from being truly admired as a boxer. As a human being I like Lewis better Mike Tyson but I'm taking about fighting here. As for Evander he preaches about his religion yet he has fathered many kids by many women. Lets not mention he was disqualified in the olympics for knocking his opponent out on a break. Lastly he has said on RECORD on a national forum that he bite someone in a boxing match in his amateur days. |

![]() | Elam an Bobby Steeles, I don't know what I did to anger either of you but I believe your ridiculing of me is unwarranted and immature. If you are not interested in martial artists' opinions on the fighting arts, MAYBE you don't belong on a MARTIAL ARTS FORUM.

![]() | These pro boxers that you don't feel qualify as "actual combat" would destroy any karate black belt in the ring, on the street, on the grass, anywhere, any day of the week. I'm not biased as i'm not a boxer or a karate man. are you male or female TracyKarate? |

![]() | Dio, (I am a male) that is your opinion. Albeit an uneducated one. Too many fighters on here seem to think that if a style is not Brazillian Jujutsu or Muay Thai that it is not only worthless but laughable. Well that is a rather ignorant standpoint for a martial artist to behold.
