I don't want to legally entangle myself here but it seems like there are a lot of works going on and people are being fooled into thinking that they are watching legit fights.

There is no reason that Rickson should be bench pressed out of the mount by Takada. BJJ 101 teaches that a bench press to escape the mount = armbar, which Rickson applied several minutes later.

What is that crap talk between Otsuka and Shamrock at KOTC prior to PRIDE? It almost seemed like a pro wrestling stunt. And then in there fight two things stuck out: Otsuka kept bouncing off the ropes for fun and Otsuka did not shoot.

Mark Kerr has a very intense training regimen including strength and conditioning. His conditioning is amazing and even Bas said so. That's just too bad he happened to have a sugar crash against Fujita 5 minutes in.

It was so so so so wierd how Brian Johnston threw in the towel for Fujita before anything had happened when he was supposed to fight Coleman. I've watched that clip 100 times and two things are certain to me. #1: Fujita was physically fine before the fight. #2: There was no visible sign of Fujita in pain or trouble at the instant the towel came flying in. So based on that, why did Brian Johnston throw in the towel?

Ken Shamrock, another strong competitor known for his physical prowess in strength and conditioning, gets tired around the 5 minute mark, just like Kerr did, against Fujita, also just like Kerr. What a coincidence.

During the PRIDE Grand Prix, Mo and Bas are talking and one of them mentions that Coleman has never been caught in a sub before. The other says, what about Takada, he caught Coleman in a heel hook. Then very sarcastically, "I stand corrected, he has been submitted before."

I could think of a lot more very strange things but these are on my mind as I just rewatched the Grand Prix yesterday.

By the way, I didn't come out and say that any fights were works, I'm just talking about a few fights and the facts concerned.

I have heard that the Takada/Coleman fight was a fix and after watching it I agree. Maybe Coleman payed off Fujita who knows.

You are correct. You must be one of the few Americans with the wisdom to see these things. Most foolish Americans believe that these fights were all real.

The Shamrock/Fujita fight was most definitely a rigged match. I also agree about the Otsuka/Shamrock stunt being straight out of the WWF.

What about the fight between Satake and the Jpanese Judo expert? In Pride10 the Judo guy has a WWF moment in the ring with Satake and then in Pride11 they have a match. Notice how in the first round the Judo guy did not once attempt to take down Satake.
It was as though he was told to fight stand up during the 1st round. As soon as round 2 began he took Satake down and easily defeated him.

Their were numerous suspicious matches in Pride9,10, 11 & 12 I believe. Im not sure if all were works or merely the result of unfair matchmaking. Fights like Saku vs Shannon Ritch might not have been a work but the skill levels were not an even match. What about the fight between Renzo and Saku? That armlock was the same one I saw Chyna do in last weeks WWF. Why was the fight stopped when Renzo did not look like tapping? What about Tom Erikson vs Heath Herring? Erikson looked like he hadnt trained in over 12 months, I was waiting for him to either have a heart attack or die from a clogged artery. Silva vs Yvel is another strange one, I doubt that Yvels testicles hurt half as much as he made out. I could go on for hours about questionable fights like these ones in MMA.

Now that Pride are emulating the UFC and incorporating worked fights into their shows we might as all just tune into Monday Night RAW. With both the top MMA shows doing works what do we have left?

I'm glad that there are some intelligent people here although the vast majority are like WWF fans that think that this time it's real.
