Not that it will ever really happen. But I'm not BSing you. Check out this homepage made by one of the guys at Gracie Japan. It has a lot of translated interviews from Japanese martial arts mags.

Read the interview with Morishita Naoto, President of DSE:
"If I can set up a match for Rickson, I want him to fight with Mike Tyson of Pro Boxing." This website has a lot of other cool stuff too. He's got a bunch of articles about training in Brazil and will soon add stuff about Muay Thai training in Thailand and training at Gracie Japan. |

Actually this is not as crazy as it first seems.
Tyson is not getting any younger, he maybe has a year or two left of pulling the big Pay Days in Boxing. If he ever gets to fight Lewis and loses, his career will be on the downward slide from then on. Tyson has been trying to emulate Ali in many ways since he became a Moslem. He even wants to fight in the Phillipines and Africa because Ali fought there. Antonio Inoki is the patron saint of Pride, Inoki fought Ali in a MMA style match in 1975. If somebody could present the fight to Tyson with the right spin on it I believe he would be interested. If Pride could come up with the couple of million dollars U.S minimum that he would request then I believe this fight would be possible. And I believe Tyson would win. tyson is also getting crazier and crazier by the minute. did you guys see his last press conference? a few years ago this fight seemed as if it had no chance of ever taking place. but as time goes by and tyson keeps fukking up in and out of the ring, it seems more and more possible. once he's finally washed up in boxing, maybe he would consider a nhb fight or two.
on another point, i don't think tyson would always be as dangerous in nhb as some would assume. in boxing you have to go toe to toe with him but in nhb you have many more options. in close is where he is really dangerous, not at long range, which might make it easier to clinch. but this is only speculation. he might also get in there and just rip somebody's ass in half. |

That match up will break DSE's bank. If Rickson is demanding US$2,000,000.00, can you imagine what Mike Tyson will demand? In the neighborhood of US$15,000,000.00.

it won't happen this weekend, but in a couple years i think it can become very possible. tyson won't be boxing forever. the guy is obviously insane. his pricetag will shrink as time goes by, and if nhb possibly gets bigger in the future, they will be able to give out bigger paydays too.
i'm speculating here people... |
