![]() | Hi Hawk, I’ve talked to you a couple times on Mousel’s forum, maybe you remember that, maybe not. Anyway I didn’t know that you were a Vietnam Vet, and I wanted you to know that I have the UTMOST respect for that. My Dad wanted to go but by the time he was old enough the war was a year over. My Great Grandfather was in WW1 and my Grandfather was in WW2. I had some other relatives in those wars as well as a couple in Vietnam and even one in Korea. Luckily most of them came back in one piece both physically and mentally, except my Grandfather lost part of his leg to German shrapnel, and his brother was killed. He and my Great Grandfather also had very bad shell shock, my Great Grandfather could often never get more than 4-5 hours of sleep a night even like 60-70 years after the war, my Grandfather was pretty much the same way. Hey, you know how it is, they often put Irishman from working class backgrounds right at the front, so they both were “right in the s*it” as they would say in Vietnam. I myself was a Balkin Peacekeeper, but OBVIOUSLY I’m not even going to compare that with Vietnam or any war. So I just wanted to tell you that I always had tremendous respect for your MA credentials (I checked them out on your sight from Mousel’s forum), but I have EVEN MORE INCREDABLE respect for you as a Vietnam Veteran! And it pissed me off when that “Aloha from Hell” was giving you lip over at Mousel’s forum (this was a while back), but had I known that you were a Vet I would have been “cyber fightin” for you a lot more! Hey listen I also wanted to tell you that when I was in school up in Canada it made me absolutely SICK every time I met a guy who said he was American and was about your age (45-50) because you could almost bet for sure that he was a draft dodger, but I guess you could never tell for sure, right. So anyway I just wanted to tell you how much I respect Vietnam Veterans just so you know that even us younger guys (I’m 25) really really respect what you guys did over there! Both my Grandfathers had some good war stories also, but I don't think either of them could kick ass like you probably could. They were both just Irish brawlers (bar fights etc, some boxing, but no other MA experience). I think my Grandfather may have had some H2H training but I never saw him use it, however I once saw him kick some guy's ass (pretty impressive for a one legged amputee that was in his 70's, I was amazed, but he is strong as an ox). And as far a my Great Grandfahter I'm not sure they even gave H2H training in WW1, but I could be wrong there. So anyway Good luck, and I’ll probably see you around the Internet! Respectfully, Mik_36 --------------------------- Oh ya Hawk (just to let you know), you've also got another post directed at you on intheguard.com that is pretty disrespectful, I was going to tell the guy off for you but same problem (it would not let me post), oh well. See ya later. |

![]() | Mik36, Thanks for the post. I've been in trial so I haven't been on the forums much for the last week. Take care, Hawk
