Congratulations Roy Harris!
I attended a Passing the Guard Seminar today that Joe Moreira held at Roy’s school. At the end of the seminar Joe officially promoted Roy to the rank of 2nd Degree Black Belt. Joe said it was well deserved and that Roy is the first American that he has promoted to 2nd Degree Black Belt. Because of this distinction, to the surprise of the attendees, Joe removed his own belt and placed it around Roy’s waist. Congratulations Roy. I believe Roy is the first American to have achieved this rank in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!
