HuSanYan can only hope to improve
Default The vacant expression & potentially very low IQ of the MMA practitioner

Well my beauties, I was recently looking at some of the sheer dumb looking smucks that seem to be attracted to the MMA arenas, now certainly not all but so many of these guys seem to seriously have something missing about them, by this I mean a seriously vacant sort of expression, a primitive demeanor.

Now in the case of the short half pint type of guys standing around 5 ft, I guess it's a chip on the shoulder or just an inferiority complex but just whats with the normal & tall sized fighters??

Does it take a low IQ to compete in these sports like MMA/UFC etc..??? or am I wrong and there are plenty of really bright, non ape type good guys in the sport???

lol.

Yes, there are lots of stupid fans and stupid MMA competitors.

No, you can have either a low or high IQ to compete, it's not relevant.

There are some smart people in the sport. One example that comes to mind is Rich Franklin. If you hear him talk in interviews, he's very well spoken and thoughtful. He was a high school math teacher before he turned fighter. That puts him in the less than 1% of the thousands of people in the arena that can fight as well as solve differential equations.
Most of the other intelligent people in MMA are from poorer backgrounds that didn't grow up rubbing shoulders with intellects, so they didn't end up at Harvard. Someone like Frank Shamrock fits that bill. He's not that well-spoken or well-educated, and cocky as hell, but if you listen to him talk, you can tell he's smart.

You don't say it very nicely, but yes, probably most of the UFC roster is probably on the lower end of the IQ spectrum. And maybe they get more stupid after getting hit in the head 10,000 times.

Actually, a higher percentage of UFC fighters have been to or graduated from college than a lot of other sports, probably due to the number of collegiate wrestlers that go into mma after college.

Really?
In pro football, baseball, basketball, hockey, almost all the guys have been through and played in college.

Just because someone went to college doesn't mean they are not stupid. Assuming anything about someone's intelligence because they participate in a given sport or have a tattoo does mean the person making that assumption is stupid.

I'm assuming you're making this point tongue-in-cheek. Surely you don't really believe this. Just in case you're serious though, I can tell you I've met a number of MMA fighters (some of them are even famous) and all the ones I've met are very intelligent. They're also super nice guys outside the octagon.

Disclaimer: I myself am not an MMA fighter. I train in Karate. Just in case you were wondering about my objectivity.

LOL blackxpress meet Jubaji... Welcome and I think you'll get a feel for the twisted sort of humor some of us enjoy here...

Or not.

Ah... I'm old and slow... HuSanYan is even more deliberate with his own TWIST on humor... I can only hope you'll find it entertaining. I still wonder when he's trying to make a point or make a joke...

I've met a number of MMA fighters, bjj black belts, guys that train in MMA, guys that train in bjj, and lots of MMA fans.
I think most MMA fighters I've met and heard in interviews were of less than average intelligence, some of them downright stupid. Not all of them.
The bjj black belts I've met have been been mixed, some smart guys and some numbskulls. This genre is quite unpredictable, it goes to show that it's not intelligence that earns one a bjj black belt. The instructors that are good at teaching are generally quite intelligent people.

Most MMA fans are stupid asses. Especially in the USA. I think that's what the UFC tries to cater to. I could give you a 100 reasons why...from who gets matched up with whom, to who gets title shots, and all sorts of other unreasonable crap that goes on there.

I hate the UFC for this aspect in how they market their brand, the Porn like women especially; it comes off like NASCAR mixed in martial arts.

It's not just the USA dude. The fans are the same everywhere. Boofheads are boofheads, it doesn't matter what language you speak.

I like MMA.....so by my own logic I am a boofhead!! Probably the smartest thing I've said all year.

Seriously though, it's pretty weak to over generalise the entire MMA fan base as being unintelligent. There are plenty of fans who go to the events or watch them on PTV and who don't drink a keg of beer before hand and yell/scream and whoo hoo their way through it.

Generally speaking, there are a lot of fans that I are attracted to contacted sports that are "just not that bright" they are not attracted by the sportsmanship or other positive aspects of the sport.. 1% ruins it for 99%..

I think a light fight venues have done a great job in protecting all the patrons and fighters..
