I'd like to see it.

The striking arts imply all fights start standing up. The clinching arts imply the clinch can stop the striker from striking, and the grappler from taking it to the ground. The weapon arts imply the they can stop the unarmed man. A complete martial art implies any fight can go anywhere...be ready and able to go everywhere. |

NHBSpice,
Sorry, but I don't think this event will happen. Great idea though. I myself am Pro Kali. It's the only weapon art I appreciate. I am sure the other weapon systems are great, but not as good as Kali, arnis de mano or whatever you want to call it. Kali is the MMA or JKD of weapons. Influenced by many asian, mid eastern and Eurpoean styles. The flips were invaded many times and as a result of being exposed to so many weapons and styles, the arts flourished. As for the hippos, they don't stand a chance against me. NHBSpice, I elect myself as your assistant. We will be called the "Hippo Sisters". I will be Bottom Hippo, and you will be Sugary Hippo. I'm a fat ass basturd.

I agree with you Balisong, but I feel that the FMA, Kali, whatever, will lose its "effectivenss" once it stops growing and evolving. It takes fighting to do so. Here on the BJJ/MMA board, that should be as evident as anything. MMA/BJJ are notorious for the full contact training that is implemented from the beginning. This is something that I'd like to see done with the weapons arts as well. Dare I say that no matter what we call the arts, is it worth being called anything if it isn't effective or even effectively practiced for combat?
