Herschel Walker starting out new career in MMA with Strikeforce MMA

NEW YORK — Herschel Walker is starting a new career in mixed martial arts.

The 47-year-old former NFL running back said Monday that he has signed a multi-fight contract with promoter Strikeforce. Walker will begin a 12-week training camp next month in San Jose, Calif.

The 1982 Heisman Trophy winner already holds a fifth-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

I just hope he does not take too much of a beating.. but I am curious. whats the average age for an MMA fighter?

Hershel was always in top shape even inhis last few years when he was with the vikings and eagles. he still had the 6 pack then. he may still have the body but i think he will be lacking flexibility and may be too "stiff" for MMA fighting.
