Wasn't Helio around 145-155 lbs? He probably gave up 30 to 40 lbs. only. Either way, Rorion loves to spin everything out of control. Kimura beat the crap out of Helio, breaking his ribs and an arm. Helio just didn't tap and lasted 13 minutes, which is commendable.

Instead, Rorion lies about the weight gap, doesn't fully disclose Helio's injuries, and says Helio "won." This is the kind of shit that decreases his credibility.

do you feather your hair and wear acid wash?

you are living in the past. Give it up and live in the present.

Who gives a shit what Rorion said 10 years ago.

Houndog you have to remember that 10 years ago duchman was a fetus. This is all new to him.

Kimura was a Ju Jitsu champion of sorts. As Judo is watered down Japanese Ju Jitsu the Gracies call all Judo and JJJ "Ju Jitsu". Technically it is correct to do so.

duchman Rorion can say it because it was true. Helio was 135lb and Kimura was 215lb.

Kimura did say that he would beat Helio in 3 minutes, he was upset with himself that he took so long to beat little Helio. He even asked Helio to teach at his Dojo in Japan but Helio declined the offer.

There is a section on the Gracie website that has little anecdotes about the family (it has been at least a year since I visited their website so this might be gone or edited by now). In one of them, Helio talks about the fight against Kimura. In helios' own words, Kimura secured do-jime upon him and squeezed him unconcious. At that point Helios' eyes bulged and Kimura released the hold to see if everything was OK and if the fight was done. Helio woke up like WTF, the ref didn't stop it, and the fight resumed. Helios' words not mine.

So during the fight Kimura threw him at will (which would have had a different effect on any less forgiving surface).

Broke his ribs and KO's him once via do-jime.

Mangled helios' elbow via jointlock for the official TKO

I can see how Rorion got confused about the outcome

I honestly wonder if somebody is translating all of the BS rorion says to Helio. Helio seemed rather frank about the outcome.

Yes, Helio was pretty frank in his description of this fight, flat-out admitting that he got his arse kicked from start to finish. It's too bad that he gets dragged into these sorts of messes, because he seems to be a very realistic, humble fella. He's one scrappy SOB too. There are lots of people who have issues with the Gracie family, but Helio is universally respected.

IMO the true weight difference in this match was somewhere between the two extremes, probably around 50-60 pounds.

nope, the is a complete movie of it, but $oriontold the world there where only two minuts of video. but there is a real video.

More funy stuff by rorion

1 Helio never exspected to beat kimura?
why did he bring in a coffen (sp?) with him for kimura.

2 It took kimura 13 min to beat helio.

the brazilian's wanted to work the fight, the japanese wanted no part of it, after some talking, the japanese told kimura to let helio live for the first then min.
as you can see from the fight description, at the than minut mark kimura throws him down, pins him helio can't get out. Kimura chokes him first and than break's his arm with in 3 min.

btw. Helio is a cool dude in my eyes, rorion is the duchbag.
