 |  Carlson Gracie Sr. Seminar in Los Angeles will be teaching a seminar with black belt Rey Diogo either Saturday or Sunday, August 4th or 5th. More details to follow....... Carlson is in town to help train Valigi for his match in Pride. He'll be back from Japan for the seminar. |

|  You know what I don't get.... and i don't mean this to be disrespectful. Why would someone pay a seminar fee for a black belt when their instructor is already a black belt and a good one at that? If you're a white/blue belt which most schools are made up of, do you really think there is going to be much value add for the $? Have you tapped your instructor of so much information that you need the supplementation? Doesn't your black belt instructor already have too much information for you? I can see getting instruction from a fresh perspective but I think that it isn't worth the $. I think most people attend these guest seminars due to the star status effect or simply to support their instructor and guest star. What do y'all think? hD |

| I think there is definitely an appeal to meeting, and getting a chance to roll with other legends in the BJJ world. But there is a lot more to it than that. I think any BJJ BB who has competed at an elite level developes their own "game". Maybe you have trained for a couple of years with a big strong guy who is an excellent mount fighter. The visiting instructor is a smaller guy who is excellent at sweeps, whatever. Besides, if you can't justify $50 to spend a day with Carlson Gracie maybe the seminar thing isn't for you. Just like anything else, some people dig it, some don't. |
