Frank Shamrock interview
There is a Frank Shamrock interview in the most recent issue of Inside Kung fu magazine. Here are some of his comments regarding who he'd be interested in fighting...
IKF: What do you think about the fight between Silva and Sak? Are you still interested in fighting Sak or do you see Silva posing a greater challenge to you?
FS: I think Silva is an awesome fighter and he will always be a dangerous fighter. But I don't see posing a threat to me as a fighter or as an athlete. I don't have a lot of interest in fighting him. I like Sak as a person, as a MA'ist. As a fighter I would fight him for the challenge of fighting him, because I like what he's done and how he carries himself. Him losing doesn't change my desire to fight him...I think I will grow as a person and a fighter if I fought him.
IKF: What do you say to critics about allegations that you've been dodging Vitor Belfort?
FS: Well, I am dodging Vitor. I've spent my life dodging fighters. That's what I do. Yeah, it was unfortunate that our paths crossed at the wrong time. First he was hot and I wasn't. Now I'm hot and he isn't. The fight really doesn't make sense. I'd like to fight him. I like his striking, I like what he brings to the table, but I don't think he's got a lot of heart. I know I would break him, but it would be a challenge for me.
FS: I want to fight Vovchanchyn because I'm scared to death of him...if I'm scared of heights I'm going to climb the tallest building and look down. If I'm scared of riding motorcycles, I'm going to get on and ride. I'm scared of Igor and that's why I want to fight him. The guy's scary; I like that.
