PRID15: Fontes-Braga vs. Matsui

The following is a play by play.. if you don't want to know results... STOP READING NOW!!!!

Fight 3, daijuro matsu (japan) vs. ebeneezer fontes braga (brasil):
Very cautious, matsui shows kick, but doesn’t throwit. Fontes unloads a flurry and gets muy thai clinch, matsui escapes and throws a flurry, efb turns him, and ends up with matsui’s back as masui goes into corner, leaning against ropes, controlling efb’s arms. Braga throws knees to mats hamstrings, as matsui stomps t efb’s feet. Matsui tries ineffective back heels to efg’s shins (looks like a kenpo technique, LOL!) fighters break and efb throws a couple of shots that land. Matsui seems tentative to get into punching range with efb. Efb pushes him into conrer, matsui spins, falls and pulls efb into guard (closed) matsui works hard to ctrol arms, and peppers efb with slaps and punches, (braga w/both hands behind matsuis’s head, braga is eating a lot (albeit small) shots to the face. Braga picks matsui up, and pulls him out of the corner. A trend developes; efb gets both hands behind matsuis head (mt clinch) and mats punches efb in the face, efb breaks his clinch and nails matsu w/a couple o f shots. Clinch and repeat. Matsu lands a double ear slap (a la sakuraba, and then does a quick, bongo type slap to the top of efb’s head…. Twice! LOL! The crowd actually laughs) braga begins to punch harder and more frequently from inside oyama’s guard. (3 min left in rd 1). Ref breaks them, and puts efb in mats gd in center of ring. Efb moves his hips fwd, and controls mats head. Mats opens guard with efb punching him. Rd 1 ends.
Between rds, mats corner packs his nose, and they are working on him like a boxers corner.
Rd 2: mats throws front kick and shoots for double, does a spin and ends up in butt scoot. Braga doesn’t give him an inch, throws a leg kick, and mats brings him into guard. Mats opens gd, silva stands. Mmats stands, and efb punches, throws a knee to the head. Mats tries for double legefb sprawls and gets guilllotend. Mats to his knees, efb tries to go to his back, mats spins to try to put efb in gd but efb stands. Mats now in butt scoot as efb peppers him w/leg kicks. Mats stands in base and lands a nice straight right to efb. They go into corner, mats butt flops again. He stands and efb puts him into corner, w/double underhooks. Mats controls the elbows, so he is in no danger. Efb throws knees, but his is too straight to get anythingn on them.mats tries to get out the side and hook the inside leg for a throw (kind of like Uchi Mata). They break out of the corner (ref breaks them). Efb throws a flurry, mats shoots double, efb sprawls and knees to top of head. Mats flops back to butt scoot. Efb doesn’t move back, and tries to kick to the head. Ref stops action to fix mats glove. Efb falls fwd and throws a bomb (misses) and matsu pulls him into closed gd. Round 2 ends. Efb looks totally fresh in the corner, and isn’t even drinking water. Matsui’s corner continues to work on his nose.
Rd 3: efb’s nose is trickling blood. They trade leather in the middle of the ring. Matsui goes for a deep! Double, and efb sprawls. He grabs both mats feet and goes for a head stomp. The ref didn’t like it (against rules?) mats now w/his head on corner post, efb leg kicking him, not giving him an inch. Ref breaks action, both standing in middle of ring. Matsu continues to throw jab/cross . efb misses w/uppercut. Efb’s jab lands, matsu for double. Efb sprawls lands 1 knee, and matsu but scoots, gets up. Efb gets good mt clinch and knees him. Mats tries to escape under, efb pushes him (hard) into corner. Matsui loses balance and ends up head through the ropes. Efb kicks him and sends him out of ring onto the floor. Fight starts again, both standing. Mats comes in head down to punch, and efb makes him pay with a combo. Mats tries double leg drop kick?!?! And falls. Efb keeps him down as he but scoots, throws kick to head and connects. Efb isn’t giving an inch, but mats stand up, efb flurry, mats shoot, efb sprawl, 1 knee and but scoot. (repeat sequence again!). Mats butt scooting again, efb above him. Matsui stand, clinch, any gueeses? Yep, but scoot. Efb follows him down, and gets his back.. matsui sits out, and goes to butt scoot. .from butt scoot, matsui actually gets a couple of straight kicks onto efb’s shin/knee…kenpo guys the world over are shoked as it doesn’t cripple efb. rd 3 ends w/matsui doing his, double leg, but flop combo. Efb has dominated this fight, and won easily. Judges decision…. Efb. (this was a no-brainer), only 3 morons in an American casino could have given this decision to matsui. (unfortunately for matsui, he is managed by takada and nod don-kinga.. fighters embrace, and efb lifts matsui into the air. Matsui bows as he exits ring. Matsui bows to takada as he walks past announcers table.

I thought Braga would of KO'd Matsui.
