Default How many BJJ blackbelts in the US?

I have 2 questions.

Currently, how many BJJ blackbelts are there in the US?

And how many of these blackbelts were promoted in the US?

These are estimates, but I would say that there are about 30-40 BJJ Black belts in the US that live here.
Plenty more visit from time to time.

I'd estimate that there are 15-20 that are here from the US.

I might be way off on my estimates, but this is just a calculated guess.

Do you know of any website that would have this info? I looked at bjj.org and couldn't find anything.

Are you sure that there are only around 15-20 black belts that were promoted here? I think the Machados alone have promoted like 10 black belts here.

Cool

I don't know of any martaial arsts site that is current.
BJJ.org was the only one that was compiling a list of all belt levels but they haven't updated their list in years.

You may be right about the Machado's producing many black belts.
Ironic how there are so many black belts from their school whereas Torrance hasn't produced one. Many guys have come from the Torrance program but left to other schools. I do know of one guy (who I trained with at Torrance) that left the Machado program that went to another school to get his black belt, so there is always politics in every school system.

I think that number sounds about right for US promoted black belts;

I know Machados have promoted many, probably more than others combined (That list has been posted before, and you guys probably know more of them than I do). I know that Nova Unioa has promoted a couple (John Lewis for one), Royler has at least one (Dave Adiv in NJ); We know that Renzo has. I don't know this for a fact, but I would imagine with the number of guys they have here that Alliance may have promoted someone.
