![]() | --------------- Rickson: I am sure that a man who can succeed me will emerge from the Gracie family. But I think it might be one or two generations later. It is clear why the situation turned out to be like this. It is because the family started to live separately. I'm in California, Relson in Hawaii, Renzo in New York.* Not all the family members who live in Brazil stay in Rio de Janeiro. But we were not like that until my generation. All the family members trained together in a good environment where many strong fighters with various specialties could perfect their technique with each other. Among them, the one who had a great power entered a fight as a representative of the family. But now, things are different. I think I want to do it again together. It is not impossible. But we have a special feeling for the reason that we are the family. It is very difficult to unite into one as long as any of us have a strong feeling that we want to be placed above the others in the family. But I want to believe it. I hope the day will come when we all will be able to train together. No, it will come for sure. |

| Novice | I think people that bash Rickson have to be the most jealous people in the world. I don't think people that bash famous people are jealous usually, but in this case; the Rickson hatred is unjustified. What has Rickson done that another fighter wouldn't do in his place? He's unbelievable on the ground and I've never heard him once comment on it either. Everyone he's rolled with, even people that don't like him admit he's great.

![]() | That would be awesome if they all got back together. They could have like triple tag team fights or maybe have like Gracie fighters versus golden glory royal rumble style !

![]() | When I was training with Royce, I always wanted to ask him about growing up with the family and how they trained back in Brazil. I didn't but he would tell us some stories from time to time. Some guys would cry because Royce would get them and he woud say, "I go much harder with my sisters than you" There isn't any mention of the Gracie sisters, only the brothers, but I assume that the girls in the family also trained BJJ. I wonder how good they are. And I wonder this from a distance....... |

![]() | my first exposure to jiu-jitsu was a free introductory lesson at the Gracie JJ Academy in Torrance... So anyway, some people show up for the free class and my training partner was the HOTTEST chic possible... you know that type that wears makeup and perfume to the gym... i'm sure everyone knows how to pass the guard right? well, I was the only guy in class that couldn't learn how to pass her guard... remember the headlock escape? make the frame and use your legs to squeeze opponents head inbetween legs... i couldn't escape from her headlock defense either... i wouldn't mind having a go at Royce's sister... i mean on the training mat that is... i mean afterall, i don't even know what she looks like... she could be a dog...hehehe |
