![]() | But four young men will forever be heroes in my mind and heart: Jeremy Glick: National Judoka Champion/Wrestler Tom Burnett: Champion high school quarterback Mark Bingham: Two time Champion collegiate rugby player Todd Beamer: Collegiate and pro drafted Baseball player My wife and I have donated many times, from the clear plastic donation box at Costco to the pledge to the TV special A Tribute To Heroes and also plan on donating blood soon (when the wait isn't hours) and will be donating money each month. I will be donating to the families of the four above mentioned men who gave their lives to save others. I ask myself, if put in that situation would I do the same? You area in THAT plane, Flight 93, with terrorists, claiming to have a bomb and probably on the way as a suicide plane to crash into some target to claim more lives. What would you do in that situation? There has been a tremendous outpour of donations from money to supplies and volunteer work. Who else has donated or plan to? |

![]() | Yep! Already did.... Regarding your question sweeper: On a far lesser extent, I've been in situations where I chose to fight eventhough I thought I was gonna get my ass kicked. And, I'm talkin about situations where I was basically defending people I didn't know against Assholes. So, I think I would have acted in the same manner as those gentlemen. But, how can you be absolutely sure when it comes to life and death until you're in that situation? later bro

![]() | Actually you should hold off on donating anything right now. The relief agencies already have enough to deal with the immediated needs of different families. It's estimated that they've already raised 2 - 3 million a family. The probem is for a lot of that money there is no real plan what to do with it. So much of it will probably end up being wasted through poor management. That's why Red Cross has been smart and said the donations are for this and other disasters. So you should all wait now and see what kind of long term funds are set up to help families. If you want to donate money now then some place like Red Cross is probably best. They know what to do with the money and if this disaster is over subscribed the money will go to helping people in other situations. I'm not saying that some of the other funds are trying to rip you off, but suddenly taking a lot of donations with no real game plans leads to waste. Whenever there is a big disaster it tends to be over subscribed up front but under subscribed in the long run. If you want to know where I get my information it comes from my father who happens to be the COO of one of the worlds largest NGOs (No, not Red Cross so don't think I have alterior motives).
