UFC33 an absolute joke

Every fight was a boring snore fest that ended in dubious judges decisions. Then finally the main event came on and the transmission was stopped half way through the fight!!!!

If ZUFFA think this is how to make a grand return to PPV they are mistaken. To compare UFC33 to Pride16 is like comparing a go kart race to the Indy 500. I will never subscribe to UFC again, im just going to buy illegal taped copies of it after the event.

Everyone I watched it with were also suprised that none of the fights ended with a decisive win via KO or submission. The fights were all long and drawn out and even boring.They should have put the alternate fights on so we could have seen some KO's and taps. I guess that's what happens when the fighters are all evenly matched. But I for one got no real satisfaction from this UFC. And I am a hardcore MMA fan and have been for yrs. I have many, many fights/tournaments on tapes and the only other one that put me to sleep faster than this UFC was the Abu Dhabi fights where both fighters would stare at each other for 5 minutes and then one would get a takedown and stay in the same spot until time was called.

In this UFC:
Liddell was fat, slow, tired easily and just threw wild one-punch haymakers. Murillo won that fight.

Serra started well, as he tried for a submission while throwing punches, but from then on he forgot this was a MMA fight as he thought he was in a submission grappling match. He would both mount and also take Yves back for long periods and just try a sub. He never threw any strike to loosen Yves up so he could get the sub. I think if he would have tried his subs mixed with strikes while in the very dominant ground positions he was in, he'd have ended the fight decisively via a sub.

Menne vs Castillo was the best fight of the night. There was some mild gynecomastia there. I really wished they'd have showed the Din Thomas fight though, b/c there's some major gynecomastia going on there. At least then I would have got my money's worth for ordering this UFC.

Tito Ortiz finally fought someone his own weight. I'd still like to see him fight Heath Herring, Randy Couture or Pedro Rizzo though.

PRIDE is still the best as far as my viewing needs are concerned. Rumor has it that Tank will sign with them after his WCW contract is up at the end of the year and they also have Frank Shamrock signed for November. PRIDE keeps getting better and better with their new rules and their soon to be weight categories. F*ck Zuffa and their BS lies, they think the fans are stupid.

It was no shock to me that Fabiano Iha lost. Din Thomas is an underrated fighter even after the wild swing to BJ Penn. He's made Jens Pulver tap!

That was one of the worst UFCs ever. I want my money back for getting cut off half way into the main fight. Zuffa should do something about that bull loney! They need to sign up more strikers or it'll be another boring clinch and bore you to death

Well to change thing they should do like the Universal Combat Challenge, if you win by knock out or submission you get a big bonus $$$ I think it's a great idea, fighter really try to finish there opponent that way.
A other rule they have is the 15 seconds on the ground, I'l explain if nothing happen during 15 seconds the ref get the two fighter back up on there feet. That way good grappler go for the submission, g&p try to knock there opponent not just old them and striker can get back up and slug!

If you really want to make it interesting start having females fight. I always find that interesting.

I had bought ticks to the event, but I sold 'em as soon as I learned Vitor wasn't fighting. I've heard from a few people who attended the event that it rocked big time despite the boring fights. The venue was legitimately sold out, the the casino people loved it as it brought a huge crowd to their venue.

So people will be back for November's show, but will the cable viewers be back?

I'm definitely going to the next one in November. Ticket purchases are in process. Go BJ!
