![]() | I have the book and it is excellent, the exercises work and help you improve. I personally think Furey is pretty bizarre, but the book is worth the money. Don't know about Furey's submission skills either, but the book only covers conditioning and fitness. |

![]() | SCP, Thanks. All I am interested in is the fitness. True exercise without having to go to the gym all the time. The wife is laying the smack down and saying I can't go to the gym 5 days a week anymore. And I was SO close to pressing 135. I knew I could have got there! Thanks again for the review. |

![]() | Come on man, you can do better than that. What are the negative aspects of the book. I need the information, so if you have comments, please pass them along. I would certainly appreciated your opinion. SZ |

![]() | Szczepankiewicz: I definitely have an opinion on this guy! If your looking to improve fitness then I think his techniques could provide some value. However, he is all talk! If he fought professionally the likes of Ortiz, Silva and company would take this guy out quickly. What bothers me is that he talks a lot of crap and does nothing to back it up. For instance, two years ago he committed (on his website) that he would compete in Abu Dhabi the following year. Guess what, it never happened. When I asked him about it I never got a straight answer. Bottom line: He doesn't walk like he talks. If you want to both get in shape and be able to defend yourself, then buy a training video from F. Shamrock, Ortiz, Marco Ruas. These are guys with true valor in the MMA world. Hope this helps..... Hitch...... |

![]() | Thanks for the info. I am definitely not looking to emulate his "fighting style", or lack thereof. I want to find a good system of exercise that is not confined to heavy iron. From what I am reading, the fitness books are ok. I don't know if the fitness book is worth 29.95 + shipping and handling. I am only looking for fitness, technique books are very difficult (for me) to learn from. Thanks again, SZ |

![]() | Whatever you think of Furey as a person, noone can argue that catch is an awesome form of submission wrestling - even better than BJJ. There is no dependance on the gi and leglocks and realistic takedowns are included.
