| Novice | most martial arts out there stress the point of competition throughout there varied types. but sometimes, the type of competition you enjoy isn't provided. so, i was wondering, how do you most prefer to apply your martial art training? personally, i enjoy a good fight on the streets. not anything that involved emotion, but me and my friend get out some boxing gloves and duke it out in a basement. what about you guys? |

![]() | LOl You guys are funny- Dont mind them Merc they are slightly deranged. For me its the opposite- I use the training to mellow me out so I DONT have trouble on the street- I have 2 assault convictions from my early 20s years back. Most people really cant fight well. So if your pretty skilled , you hurt them. However when you take it easy, you could run into one of the few that can destroy you . So its a catch 22 . I learned my lesson hard way- Since then Ive suckered a few cocky types that like to push and kid that way into "wrestling" matches the last 10 years or so. That qualifies I guess. Its far better than actualy throwing down with them. I also had 2 actuall fights in the last ten years. One got me written up in paper and on TV as a "hero-" since my opponent was a car thief, which was pretty cool, and the other against a crazy person who lost it on booze. However, m not sure if it makes up for the numerous maulings Ive taken in the gym against top guys who use me as test dummy for new moves. |
