Question If Carley Gracie was never defeated, why is he not in the top 4 Gracies

I just finished reading a article on Carley Gracie the "lion" of the Gracie family. He states that he was never defeated, ever, whether in a fight or in a training session within the family. If he was so good, how come he is never mentioned as one of the best Gracie fighters of all time. Helio, Carlson, Rolls and Rickson are constantly touted as the best fighters from the family. Whats the story?

Many of the Gracies have never been defeated before. Carley probably got his ass whupped by the tougher guys in the family behind closed doors.

He was kicked out of the Gracie Hall of Fame for gambling on his own challenge matches.

Cool Re: Carley Gracie

For what it's worth, I trained with C.G. very briefly and he was without a doubt the best BJJ teacher I ever had. I trained at 3 different schools in 3 years but it wasn't until I took a few lessons from C.G. that I actually felt I was learning self-defense.

Does it say he was never defeated once he got his blackbelt? Somebody would of had to have been able to tap him while he was learning. Sounds like a typical Gracie claim to invinciablity.
