Anyone live and train in our around Erie, PA? I will be headed out there in October for two weeks. I would like to do a little cross training while I'm out there....

i live in philadelphia, but i might be a little too young for you (16).

nevertheless, i got a good heart, and need all the help i can get in the martial arts (my background comes from street sambo from a fight club and wrestiling, and now im into karate. i need help from people.)

also, i know a number of guys out here around my age and older into the UFC style of fighting. some are into the MMA and some are street.

i guess you could call this a feint offer, its up to you to take me up on it.

I am actually looking for someone who has a dojo/gym IN Erie so I can visit and exchange ideas. It is a family trip so I don't think I'll be going to Philly.

However, if something does come up where I am invited to train I would most definitely request that you be invited as well. It would be nice to meet some people on the forum and get a chance to train with them.

Age is not necessarily a factor for anything and if you and your friends are eager to exchange some information and train then I see no reason why that would be a problem at all.

I appreciate your response and will keep you posted as to anything I find.

PS, one of my better and more spirited training partners is only 17. He came to our school with a 3rd Brown Belt in TKD. I love to drop in on him when he spins and kicks at my head...

Oh, and Erie is in the western part of Pennsylvania, 2 hours east of Cleveland.

but no matter, most of my friends now are able to drive, including the ones who would more then take you up on that invitation.

Yes, it is far. It's on the other side of the State from Philly. That would be an all day trip for your group. However I will keep you posted if I find anything. You just never know....

There is a guy named Dan Swift that I train Bjj with in Rochester New York with where I go to school. He lives in Erie and also fights in MMA/NHB matches professionally. If you want to contact him go to www.royharris.com and go to the discussion forums under either Bjj or MMA. He posts there alot and might be able to help you out. He uses the name swiftnhbfighter or something. Just post something about Erie.

The thing is MT, is that most people on the board are afraid to post/list where they are at. That way they can talk a bunch of crap and not be worried about guys like TracyKarate or Patterson showing up in Ninja garb and kicking the snot outta them.... or calling the thought police to tattle on you for making innappropriate, offensive or down-right NON Politically Correct comments!

It's too late for me, but save yourself.....

ya, swiftnhb is also on the UG..i was just gonna mention him,
there are also a bunch from Youngstown, Ohio that do
crosstraining...it's only an hour or so away from Erie. Put
a thread on the UG, you'll prolly get alot of hits..
