None of the kids I train with have a gi, so I've had to modify the techniques I've learned from watching my tapes and training at the Gracies to No gi. Can you guys suggest a no gi tape series that shows good stuff I can learn and teach. Also, since none of the boys have gi's, I told them they should probably wear as little clothes as possible when they come to train. Should I order some gi's for the boys or continue to focus on no gi/vale tudo training?

I trained with no gi (just t-shirts) for quite a while when I first started BJJ. The great majority of the teqneques are applied the same with or withough. Except of course collor chokes. Though I have collor and clock choked people with just a t-shirt. Clock choke works great with just a t-shirt. Now I train with and without the gi but to be honest these days I don't like wearing it that much.
As for tapes Matt Thorntons first and second tape series from the StraightblastGym are just great. |

When you're doing no-gi, ya gotta watch out for ringworms. I got some last summer and it took about 3 weeks to go away.

OK so far I'm gonna purchase Mario Sperry volume 1 and I think I will check out the Matt Thorton tapes.
I don't think I'm gonna waist money on any of those vale tudo shorts, I mean from what I've seen their is no difference between vale tudo shorts and speedos or bike shorts, and of got plenty of those. So I don't think I'll waste my money. |

I never said anything about oil? I think you have an over active imagination.
So I own speedos? Have you seen the kind of shorts these guys wear when they fight? What is the difference between speedos and little tiny vale tudo shorts I mean Ken Shamrock the most dangerous man alive wore purple speedos, and Sakuraba use to wear those pink speedos.

Come on Roy lighten up! We're just ribbin' ya. You have to admit that the most dangerous man alive in purple speedos is just a little funny....
And what's wrong with oil? Maybe that's why no one wants to train with me anymore..... ![]() SZ |

Szczepankiewicz,
MAybe a bikini wax would keep from scaring people off. TRim that hedgerow peeking out from under your shorts. I thought of a good idea. Transparent speedos would be a good detterent, huh? |
