I congratulate you on prevailing in your confrontation, but gloating doesn't reallu have a place in training and the martial arts. Every experience in life is one that can be learned from, because after all life is all one big learning experience itself. Also about your broken finger, I would suggest trying a hammerfist or ridgehand to the softer target areas like the carotid artery. This is where a quick knockout can be achieved, similarly to how one would attack the carotid when training jujutsu. I wish you luck Joe.

Correct me if I am wrong, but are you saying that ego and martial arts should be two separate things? You should work to be humble and non-assuming as part of your training?

Yes. I feel that ego can only act as a hindrance to the evolution and growth of a martial artist. The mind is like a sponge. If it is full of mud it will have trouble absorbing much of anything.

Yeah, all the ladies call him "Single Shot Joe" Didn't you know that?

When you have to fight every day you better be good at it. All the people who say violence doesn't solve anything need a good ass-whuppin'!

I think if we got our asses kicked more often, we may be more humble. A bunch of humble people get along a lot better than a bunch of people who think they are badasses and can kill or sue you if you piss them off.

I think we should institute the Thunderdome!

As they say, an armed society is a polite society....

Joe, I was respectful towards you. I don't see any explanation for your words towards me other than the fact that you sound like a "street punk". If you are going to give your opinions about myself and other styles of martial arts(which you know little or nothing about I'm sure) then I will reserve the right to state my own opinion about you and the arts you train. You are correct in these regards: the arts do not teach humility. That is a quality which we must find within ourselves. It seems you have a lot of searching to do. It is easy to destroy. What is difficult and admirable are qualities like pride and a genuine love of humanity. But I am a tolerant person and I understand that in our youth we know all and can defeat all, but that it is only with age that we come to understand we know little and have everything to learn.

One other thing: you called me sick for advising you to strike your opponents carotid artery. Your ignorance shows in how you fail to see that this would have the same effect as your boxing punch, only you AND your opponent both would not have been injured. I guess your vast experience in "streetfighting" (this happened in a house) failed to show you this. I guess it is less "sick" then to open up a gash on your friends face while breaking your own finger in the process. I suppose it is not bragging if you limit yourself to only talking about all the girls that were attracted to you after witnessing the event. I guess you have a lot to learn.

A STREET PUNK?

what i notice about you is that you come off like some freakin guru and you're not...

i was joking ..if you read better then you give advice you'd see i was playing...NOBODY IS GOING TO STRIKE SOMEONE THEY KNOW IN THE ARTERIES...

1.) learn to read

2.)when you do learn how to read...i said "MY HOMEBOY'S BROTHER" meaning im not going to kill him...that shows that you are not quick to figure out the best in a situation..YOUR MORE ANIMALISTIC THEN ME!! YOUR SUGGESTING ME TO: hammerfist or ridgehand to the softer target areas like the carotid artery. You need to check yourself and your temper..

3.)i work for an internet company and was in a gang but trust me i am no street punk. ive been thru more shit then your suburbian ass..

4.) KARATE SUCKS DICK

5.) I WAS BEING COOL WITH YOU

Well you said i didn't know anything but I had you pegged for a street punk and I was right, wasn't I? You showed disrespect be name calling and saying I was sick and using expletives in your post. I was not in a gang so I, like most normal people, find this disrepectful. If you would have struck your firend in the artery he would not be walking around with the open gash on his face you were so proud of and your arm would not be in the cast that it is in. I read quite well and by reading your last post it is very evident that you are the one with the temper, friend. It is not my wish to argue with you.
