With a gi on I like chokes. Clock choke, the X choke, the back choke. Armbars are also very good. I like alot of submissions from the mount and getting the backside. I do prefer submissions from the guard because you are usually so vulnerable when you are on your back. I really like the triangle. It is an awesome submissin. It so effective. You have incredible control when you have someones head between your legs like that. They can't punch you, they can't escape, and it doesn't take any strength to apply. Triangles are the best. Just ask Dan Severn.

My triangles suck.
I need to work on them better. I like side mount and either go north- south or knee on stomach. I'll full mount if the oppurtunity is there but would go back to side mount for better attacks that I like. side mount to triple attack and then transtion to choke or arm bar. |

My fav submissions are armbars. I like chokes but my chokes are often clumsy and most of the guys I roll with can see them coming a mile away. They just keep trying to grab my hands. I also like doing painbrush/americana but never from a mount. Maybe with an unexperienced person it would work but with anyone else they just ompaa up and roll you.
Anyone ever make use of the double armbar from the guard? I go for it often but always seem to miss it.

Kimuras are definetly da isht. Also, I think the arm triangle from the mount, then u walk around like a clock choke is very effective. Good thing a lot of wrestlers don't know about it !!

*giggle* Seriously, I'm having a lot of trouble with the triangle...I can get them locked into it so they can't get out, but then I can't actually choke them out. Any tips? |
