Question My turn

What target sports and where in the Midwest? My boss is in Chicago so I get up that way from time to time. I am looking at getting into IDPA or Tactical Rifle competitions.

Interesting stuff.

For all the emphasis on ground-fighting, there is nothing on grappling with a knife.

I am in Mid Michigan. about an hour north of Detroit( about 4 1/2 5 1/2hrs from Chicago) . I shoot a lot of centerfire hand gun, Glock 17 S&W 686 And a Para-ordnance. I teach CCW for civilians and some weapons retention to officers. I shoot some long gun, the problem is finding a range that is more that 200yds/m. I just put together a Rem 700 Sendero 300Win. Mag. and don't have a place to open it up at.
Whats your flavor?

I didn't go all the way through it but there didn't seem to be much on wearing LCE. That stuff would impede your groundfighting a bit.

Default Michigan & shooting

Our only place up there is in Troy. I have only been up there once so far.

I like center pistol as well. I have a Glock 17, but my favorite is still the government model style. I have a Colt Custom Combat Level 1. All the good stuff and none of the frills.

My rifles right now are in the Patrol Rifle category. I have a Bushmaster HBAR (AR clone) and an Austrian FAL. The Sendero sounds like excatly the right setup. A friend of mine has one in .308. The police model has too large a palm swell for my taste. I have also looked at the .338 Lapua for a caliber but that is awfully expensive too shoot.

Thumbs up

We should hook up next time you're this way. I imagine there is a lot of long range shooting area down in your area.

I'll drop a line if I am going to make it up there.

We have a club down south of the city with a 1000 yard range. I am looking forward to it.
