I train submission with some friends in my basement. Most of our technique comes from bjj tapes. Anyone who has watched any of these tapes knows that they don't usually name the moves and even if they give some names they don't give them all. English please.
Allso does anyone know if Pedro Saur has his own training association or is he affiliated still with Rickson Gracie's association.

There are two main catagories for guards: Open and Closed guards.
I am assuming from the tapes you of course know the closed guard.
But under the open guard catagory, there are many types of open guards.

Now I am not an instructor so I won't attempt to try to teach you the different ones. There are others here that are more capable at teaching you those. But the next one you might want to try is the open spider guard.
This is where you grab your opponent's sleeves and put your feet on your opponent's biceps for control and either a submission move or sweep.

There is also the De La Riva Guard, when your opponent stands up and you hold onto one sleeve and you sit on the opposite foot, with your feet wrapped around that leg and
many variations from this guard. There is the X guard from this position, where you wrap your legs around the foot that you are sitting on and you criss cross your legs in an X pattern on the other leg.
I know this doesn't explain it well and much easier and better to show, than to write it in text.

There are many sites that show techniques:

There are many more sites out there with techniques, go to http://www.bjj.org for links
