Exclamation Essence of Evolution

I've been lurking at this site for some time now, and I've noticed that a lot of people are feeling some of the same frustrations and questions that most modern martial artists go through, including myself, such as: the usefulness of technique, any given style's curious emphasis on memorizing a library of techniques, questions about principles, questions of application, the matter of size vs. skill, spontaneous reactions, the limitations of style, the limitations of training, etc. So in the hopes of contributing something unique to the forum, and hopefully to offer one possible avenue of moving past these frustrations, I'm posting this link:

www.evolutionary-systems.com

I'm not promoting a style. To say that one style is superior to any other is simply an exercise in massaging one's ego. What I am promoting are ideas, and a method of training that is quite a bit different from what is "traditional," and yet based on an analysis of traditional theories of combat. As it says on the site, the Essence of Evolution philosphophy resides in the heart of anyone who rejects unquestioning adherence to any one style. If anyone has any questions or responses, please e-mail them to me: mirvin@ucla.edu
