I've been reluctant to post this story because it is nothing to be proud of, but what the hell.

It took place about a month ago in Eugean, OR. Some friends of mine and I rented an RV to go down to watch the Husky vs Ducks game. We left on a Friday. Now I'll cut out all the drinking stuff and get straight to the fight(now it's early Sat morning 2:30-2:45).

The four of us had just left the bar when we were approached my two guys. One was super drunk and could hardly walk and was sluring his words (call him Drunk Guy) The other guy we will call Crazy Guy(you can see where this is going!)

The Drunk Guy approcaches my friend Paul and is acting very drunk but jovial(sp?)Paul and him are shaking hands. Paul is talking to the guy like you talk to a foreigner, because the dude was so drunk. I look at Crazy guy and for some reason he looked scared(I remember thinking this).

I turn my head away and as I look back the Crazy Guy cooled cocks Paul in the face right below the left eye. The punch was very hard and Paul(as well as everybody else was not expecting it)Paul gets knocked out and was bleeding below the eye(not serious). I'll try to speed this up.

The crazy guy starts swinging at my other friend Jon who puts up his hand and deflects all the punches. I start to approch the Crazy Guy and he starts swinging at me. I react slowly and he hits me on the side of my face. I was a little stunned, but now I have to do something.

I have not trained in two years and was not feeling very confident. As I approached the guy I made up my mind that i was going to kick him thinking this would bring his hands down to (1)give me better odds of punching (2)make it "easier to shoot".

I threw a low thai-kick that was full off Adrenalin and the guy hit the ground. the kick acted like a sweep or something. I was kind of shocked. Then I threw a weak punch that hurt my index knuckle. I then realized that we were in the middle of the street and cars were comming. The guy gets up and actually says "I liked that kick...that was a good kick" which makes me think he was on something.

No flying armbar, no take down to mount to armbar. No great decisive victory with a hot chick comming up to me. That my friends is a real fight( a lame one!!!!!) However, knowing the basics of an effective martial art(muy thai, BJJ,MMA)is a HUGE advantage over the average guy. And that is what you should get from this story. It tured the whole situation around.

P.S Paul was ok with a black-eye. We all were jokeing about over beers and breakfast later that morning.

99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer....

I always like a good story, where they live happily ever after.

No one got seriously hurt and you got to tell a fight story. Cool.

    well, heres mine

ive been in two real fights my whole life, and one was with my brother. im just not a violent guy, so it takes a lot in order to make me fight. i play football at a junior college and there is a defensive lineman (6'3" 260) that plays there that can not keep his mouth shut.

to makea long story short, he kept running his mouth and i got into it with him. he charged me and started knocking me bacwards so i monkey flipped him and started throwing knees and punches to his sides and stomach (the only place not covered by pads). he starts rolling around and i end up mounting him, i try to just stay there so he would stop struggling but he kept going so i gave him a couple more shots to the sides and then a couple open palm strikes to the facemask, just to let him know that he was beat(and to let him know he would have been dead without a helmet on).

wasnt much, but he was a lot bigger than me. a lot of my teammates came up to me after that and thanked and congratulated me. this guy really deserved it and it was about time someone whooped up on him.

What's a monkey flip? Is it like a tomeo nage where you fall to your back with a foot on his hips and kick/pull him right over the top of you, then you follow to land in the mount?

Is it just me, or does almost every fight story begin with...

    So we were drinking....

So here we were at 2:30a.m....

    So this drunk guy....

What percentage of fights would you estimate involve
    alcohol?

I'd go into more detail, but the drunk sales manager in the office next to mine wants to fight.

With out fail I bet 90% of fights involve alcohol in one way or another.

Alcohol is the root of most people's EVIL.

Can you count how many stupid things you said/did while enjoying some alcohol?

How about, how many times you've woken up next to some butt ugly female the next morning, when the night before, she was a babe?

    HA!

    Sumi Gaeshi...not Tomoe Nage

The throw with the foot hooked inside the leg is Sumi Gaeshi.

None of my fights involved alcohol since I don't drink.
Most were guys wanting to prove they were tough. Nothing more than that. And some sick "hazing" plan some guys had, but that probably falls under the same catagory.

Edro, I respect the man who avoids the fight more than the man who thinks fighting is manly. Good for you.
(though I hate that kind of thing, so next time gut them with your pocket knife)
