![]() | Cfr, Have you looked into Paul Vunak's system, or Tony Blauer? Pretty interesting stuff. I have several of Vunak's tapes(the Street Safe ones) and I enjoy them immensely. Both systems seem pretty realistic. Martin http://boonie.homestead.com/index.html |

![]() | Muay thai would be an excellent choice to supplement your BJJ training. Ya, Vunak is pretty awesome. I've seen some of his tapes and he seems to know just about everything! No sarcasm intended.

![]() | Why are you training? What purpose does it serve for you? Something that I have not encounterd in the world of Commercial Martial Arts is firearms training. I'd like to see or set up something like that. I wonder what that would entail.... |

![]() | You should take Filipino Martial Arts in addition to your BJJ. This is a good idea because it will teach you that when you use the guard in the street against a Filipino Martial Artisit, they will stab you with a knife in your inner thigh which may result in your death.

![]() | Should I take kendo to learn how to poke someone's eyes through masks?

![]() | You guys can take ninjutsu and kendo if you really like to. I'm sure they will have a good manoeuver in there that you can use. But it's not that common for people to carry a shuriken or to wear a kendo mask. We tried to use the knife disarm that Rorion Gracie teaches in his Street tape, and it was effective against a guy with a knife who doesn't know how to use a knife. When we used our FMA technique against BJJ, sorry but BJJ always lose because BJJ is close range fighting and FMA knife is close range and is designed specifically to kill BJJ type of style. Now BJJ vs Empty hand is effective, but when there is knife like always on the street BJJ better use footwork and run away just like when there is gun knife better run away

![]() | Jaredextreme and mushinmaster, Not only is your sarcasm worthy of shi t, but both you guys are missing the point! So typical of many BJJ guys. They Always go to the ground before checking to if there's any glass. Only idiotic morons would think I did not know that you did not know, that a trained knife will kill grappler. That's so obvious! You see, when I stabbed that BJJ guy, I told him I didn't want to fight. But he insisted because he knew Jujutsu, and of course it will make you confident becasue of it's effectiveness. So he didn't consider that maybe I have concealed butterfly knife. And he insist that we fight. I tell him no, I don't want to fight! Then he calls me pussy and kicks me! He did that kick to my shin! So I spit on his hair! And then he came in for a take down, and then I stabbed that ****er so hard in his shoulder and he screamed in pain. And then I laughed at the guy because he wants to fight and I told him I don't like to fight with Jujutsu guy because I like Royce Gracie!

![]() | I'll agree with Fighter and RockinRonnie! Let me add that you need to find what works for you. Try a bunch of styles and see what you like. Every martial art has some merit! Good luck! Marcelo Alonso BJJ Boom's Website |
