Default Do you reccomend private lessons for BJJ and MT

Hi I have been studying TKD for quite some time now but I want to start something new and am planning to try BJJ and MT but I was wondering if you think I should take private or regular lessons

With any martial art you will generally learn faster with private lessons as opposed to group lessons, due to the fact group lessons generally only progress at the rate of the dumbest, least serious individual in the class (the weakest link).

Also don't forget that with BJJ at least, it usually helps alot to be able to learn from a 3rd person perspective, watching another person execute a technique on someone else, rather than just feeling what is being done to you and trying to visualise things from your instructor's perspective.

You just have to consider how you learn best, and whether slightly faster learning justifies higher fees.

You also need to recognise that sparring/grappling with just one person will cause you to get used to that person and their size, strength, flexibility, style, etc. of fighting and not many different peoples!

Hope I've helped!

There are pro's and con's of both.

PRIVATE: You learn quicker because of less ditractions, You can ask questions without being teased, It is less crouded so you can move around freely. But it is usually much more expensive and you dont get to spar with a variety of people.

NORMAL: Cheaper, Wide range of partners, going at a slow rate but that gives you time to absorb, Contact with different people (anyone may teach you something not just your teacher). But you dont have the one-on-one teaching going on.

From that you decide what best suits you.
