i dont think there is any real art behind pit fighting, look at the most successful pit fighter tank abbot, he is overweight and has no real technique , he goes in there and punches thats it, he makes it look like a street fight, i agree he has got good punches but how can you really call pit fighting a martial art it teaches no skill or technique all it is is a club like on fight club, you know the movie with brad pit its just somewhere where people can go and fight and hurt each other it shudnt be classed as a martial art, tell me what you think¬!

Tank's kung fu may not be very pretty, but you have to give him credit. His technique works, and on a good night he can beat anyone.
It's also unfair to say he is not a martial artist. Tank trained and studied in the art of fighting. He is a martial artist by default. |

dude, Pitfighting was never claimed to be an MA. Tank Abbot universally disrespects the martial arts. A pit fight is when you get dudes who fight for cash in a circle of other guys. He just likes to fight, and believe me, he could kick ass. Ask John Matua (knocked into convulsions), Steve Nelmark (knocked plain unconscious), Cal Worsham (nearly thrown out of the octagon), and Don Frye (nearly knocked out by a friggin' JAB). If he had ever studied anything besides ass-kicking, he could have beat ANYONE. As it stands, in his championship matches, he almost won all of them, but either conditioning or lack of ground skill betrayed him. For corn's sake, the guy could bench 600#. He just never learned how to use his legs for either standup or grappling.
