Default Favorite moves

Ok, these are my favorites (Not saying that I can pull these off with any skill, but my favs nonetheless!)

The one move I pull of REALLY well is the mount to guard sweep. (me in the mount, and ending up in the guard! Also, when I rolled w/Rey Diogo, my In the guard to him in the mount sweep was also REALLY effective! LOL!)

In striking, I like the roundhouse to the leg. I'm not a very big guy, but due to life as a soccer freak, my legs are much stronger than my upper body.

I really like takedowns, especially the single leg.

On the ground I end up in guard (bottom) a lot. I like the americana/umaplata combo. When my little guy fantasies come true and I get side control, I love knee in belly!

I actually don't care for the mount. Against larger opponents my knees sometimes don't touch the ground, so my balance is horrible.

(I can see you guessing that i'm either a 12 year old, or a freaking dwarf.. i'm actually 5'8" 155, but usually spar guys much much bigger.)

As far as stand-up goes I like boxing in general. I use shin kicks and round kicks on the outside but really try to get in close and throw short hooks. In the clinch I like knees and elbows of course, but I do lots of uppercuts and hooks too. I like to do snap downs into the guillotine. Most people counter it though so I'll then go to either a headlock and underhook leverage takedown into head and arm position, then going for shoulder lock and simultaneous strikes to the face, OR a trip from the front headlock (failed guillotine) straight into a sidebody position neckcrank, which supposedly can break someone's neck. I've never taken it that far but I've popped some peoples necks before. I also like the high mount for striking and armbar if possible. I also like to fight from the gaurd, throwing elbows and punches and working for a submission if possible.

Cool

Striking: Right cross followed by RR Thai round kick to the lead leg. The cross is to keep them thinking high, sometimes there is intent on the blow and other times all I am trying to do is feint and get my hand in their face. If the leg kick does not drop them, it generally unbalances them enough that a follow up/finish is easily obtainable from there. I also have a good front snap kick. (Not the Gracie version) With a little slid behind it I have dropped a number of people with the lead leg.

From a clinch: Obviously elbows and knees. I have had good success in the past using a hip throw from here in the street. I would assume that to be dangerous against an experienced grappler, as it would seem to me it could lead to a rear naked with a guy that knows what he’s doing.

On the ground: I like to scream, “I have AIDS!!” or “Take me you stud!!”

Talking

LOL! I am forbidden to speak of those secret techniques. To do so would mean a surfer death squad dispatched to my humble abode. I will give you this one though. First rule of in the water surfer combat. If you see it coming, rip the leash off your ankle. It’s bad enough to be fighting in the water; you don’t want to make it worse by being tangled up/tied to your opponent.

True story: I have a friend who is about 5’6” tops. Never trained a day in his life, but I have witnessed him lay down some savage street beatings on people much larger than him. (Pretty much everybody) We were in a nightclub one night when some little scene broke out and the whole thing blew up and became a mass punch out. I got my ass over to the door and look back inside to see where he is at. This HUGE dude gets in front of him and starts screaming he’s going to kill him and takes a run at him (he was linebacker size and it was looking like he was about lay the sack on my buddy) My friend stands there motionless by a table as this dude accelerates across the floor towards him and……. picks up a little round glass circular ash tray and heaves it like it’s one of those Ninja stars. Caught the dude square in the head and dropped him like a dead man. LOL! My little buddy casually picked up his coat and strolled out to meet me like “no big deal.” You remember that scene from the Indiana Jones movie where the big dude with the twin swords does this big flourish and Indiana pulls his piece and plugs him? Reminded me of that.

LOL Mickey Finn!

My best one always a good one, when some big dude start coming to get in my face and talking s*** I put my hands out and up, you know like "hey man take it easy" in a really scared voice and if he keep coming I stiffarm him right in the ****ing nose and push him back. Then from there its easy double leg takedown but he's too busy holding his nose and now his head really hurt.

Try it sometime it really really works I swear.

Ok..

Favorite reversal: Spider Guard (one foot in bicep, one hand on ankle, spin under them.) Anyone know the name of this?

Favorite submission: clock choke and kneeon stomach to opposite armlock.

Favorite Takedown: Heelpick

Favorite sparring move: is a right cross feignt followed by a shuffle and right crosss ( much like Mo did against Kaz in Extreme 4) followed by a tai clinch.

I suck so I have to resort to easy unskilled techniques. Getting guillotined and front headlocked has made me a sissy standing even though I do escape them. So I clinch and try to do stuff from there, no leg shots for me. My favorite submission is probably Americana or arm triangle from mount, my favorite position is mount though I take perverse pleasure in knee on stomach. I usually use an open guard and try to get to my knees facing them or give my back, but my favorite sweep is that one where you set up in a guillotine position and bridge with one leg. I am rarely put in a guard because everyone I happen to roll with sucks worse than me, but when I am I break with the elbows. If on knees I go for an ankle lock or do the post shin on leg move to side control bit, standing I grab feet. But I rarely roll and suck.

Cool

I'm starting to get good at arm bars from the guard - so I'd have to say that this my favourite.

I like all kinds of strikes but my favorite grappling move would have to be any type of choke.

I'm just curious.

wizzer with inner thigh bump off of an athlete's single leg attempt (i learned it in judo with a gi first, actually)

throw-by off the opponent's neck tie (the wrestling hold, not an actual neck tie) - take his back and choke him, lift him, or rear-heel trip
