id aim for the chin with a straight hard jab its quick its deadly it brings the opponents hands up so i can go in for a takedown it leaves me balanced and well covered for any counter and i step to the right as soon as i can this takes his attack way out of alignment no matter what... lateral movement after the strike is essential too many guys staying in the line of fire you have to accept that the other guy has a plan too in my opinion to land a thigh kick but then pay the price by being dumped on you head after the clinch is not worth it kicking a grappler is simply to offer your center of balance its like saying ok ill stand on one leg take me down it doesnt work in nhb anyway great kickers never make it to the top ten..

hi mike, i feel that its his ability to survive on the ground that makes maurice smith great to call a man that has 5 to 10 years of grappling under his belt a kicker is an oversimplification

I didnt mean to imply that Maurice Smith had no ground skills. We all know that he does, however I was trying to point out that he is an excellent kicker who has done well in MMA (not to mention plenty of kickboxing fights as well).

Bri Thai,

Stick with martial arts cause at least you have a chance to get better with it.That joke was so dry that all the oceans in the world could'nt help it.

Now back to the post.

The areas i would attack are .

1,3,4,7,8,9,12,and 14

1,3,4,7,8,and 9
I would attack with a pheonix knuckle strike because these are areas that have very little flesh or muscle to protect them.with a good shot 7,8,and 9 would stop them cold.

12,and 14
I would use various kicks to these areas.Maybe a front snap kick or thrust kick to 12.I would just crush 14 by stepping on the knee cap fights over at that point.

Can't stand or walk can't fight.

Also 2,5,6,and 7
You could use various snake strikes to these areas.Snake strikes to 2and 7 would cause serious damage.

Not always.

What alot of people don't know is it's very hard to kick to the head area. The head is an easy target to miss and if you do miss you will usually have your back or side left unprotected to your opponent.

Make that mistake in a street fight against a good opponent and you could be the quietest thing in church that week.

What does quietest thing in church that week mean?

Laying on your back in a pine box while your friends and family morn your death.

I know that's a bit to the point ,but you have to know these things when you attempt a attack. If i miss do i leave myself exposed to a serious counter attack?

Also.........
If you're going to attempt a Muay Thai kick. You better have the legs and power of a Muay Thai kicker.Muay Thai kicks work because of the way they train.I don't think they kick trees anymore ,but they still work on their legs alot.

ABSOLUTELY.!!!!!!!!!!!

The fact is you dont usually get a choice !

You strike where the opening is.

If you have such a choice, its hardly a fight, and you can strike most places and hurt the opponent.

But if there is one choice, i wouldnt even consider the fancy smanshy kicks etc.
Head kicks are a no no, in a dark street with an uneven footing, you are more likely to put yourself in a difficult situation than when you started.

My choice is boring a simple, but extremely effective on even the largest adversary.

A simple fast and hard kick to the groin !!!
