I'm mainly a boxer and have been wondering something so I figured I would post it here.
Which technique do you think works better? 1) Whipping the punch, such as turning your foot, then hips , then thrusting out your fist. 2)Doing it all simultanouesly. I have found different punches have different advantages with each. Just wondered about everyone else's experience. |

The whip action has always been better for me. The milli-second time delay in transforming power up through the body builds a platform of speed for each body segment, i.e. the hips move faster as they are on the platform of the already moving feet, and the shoulders move faster re the hips etc.
People will say that the blows are then telegraphed. But the whip is so quick I doubt that it registers to the human eye, and such a blow is far better than one with far les power. |
