Thumbs down

I don't agree with taking guns away from americans. The way I see it is that if a kid is that screwed up in the head he is gonna find one way or another to kill someone,be it by setting the school on fire or by a knife.

EJ:

LOL, I was referring to "neutral" Belgium getting mowed down by the Germans in two consecutive wars, just because they were in the way, blocking the road to France.

Tony's wishy-washy stance in these gun-control arguments reminds me of this type of fence-sitter.

"Hey guys! I'm a liberal. No wait! Wait! I'm a conservative! I'm an independent! I wear glasses! Please don't hurt me!"

LOL. Sorry, Tony.

Nice try Ronin. You think I'm gonna bite on that hook, don't you?

Plus, let me spell it out for you:

talking about guns here = John getting all crazy and then him and Hawk say mean things to me.

So I prefer to think of it this way: the dog may bark, but the caravan moves on...

So why bark?

Because...because...that bait is just so tasty and mouth-wateringly yummy...I just can't resist taking a big bite!

Ow!

Ronin,
As to someone I enjoy debating with you need to think a minute. The Branch Davidians had a .50? Have you even seen what a .50 can do? If they'd had a .50 there would have been more then four ATF people die and if any were hit by a .50 they'd have had a hole you could drive a truck through. Where are you getting this?

Hey BigBird,
how did you like the part where the infrared shows the FBI shooting at people as they try to get out of the burning building?

Or how bout when they admitted in front of congress that they gassed the kids because they thought the parents wouldn't be able to stand the site of their kids in such agony and would give up. (you know: violent vomitting and such)

Or when the experts testified that indeed those gasses are highly flamable, and that yes, a flash bang could set off those gasses in an enclosed space.

What a bunch of sick *UCKS!

Hey Masala I saw that film recently and I have to say that when it was over I had a pretty sick feeling even in my perpetually jaded state.

Those were truly sick revelations; what I personally thought was revolting was running over the people's cars with the tanks. Those guys were acting like barbarians.

The infrared from the plane, though, was the most haunting thing from the movie.

Having said all that, Koresh was still a twisted f*** and his followers were dupes, but they sure as hell didn't deserve that.

Hey Tony,
yeah I forgot about that Tank bash....the only thing they were missing was a few beers. THey were hootin and hollering as they destroyed private property for no other reason that to "blow off steam" as the FBI guy put it. Cars, mobilhomes, outbuildings....just destroyed it all.

And yes, Koresh was a sick puppy too.

Is this video on the internet? Or was it released on TV?

Actually Yella I rented it at Blockbuster, believe it or not.

It is disturbing but a must-see.

There's definitely some soft-pedaling of who Koresh really was that you should treat accordingly, but it is pretty sad how our supposed good guys acted.

And again I have no tolerance for people like Koresh, but...

There's some bad scenes of the bodies at the end, but I didn't mean disturbing in a gross-out way. You'll just have a sickening feeling after watching it that what you thought went down--the official version--was doctored. Boy we sure do have a history of official deception in the good ole' USA.

It's called Waco: Rules of Engagement.

It's definitely got a slant, but they back it up pretty damn well.

Wait 'til you see the infrared shots from the plane when the sheet hits the fan at the end, that last day.

Hawk:

I heard they had a .50, among other ordnance. What they actually had, and what the ATF guys were shot with, I have no idea. I followed the story at the time, and I argued with my friends that the government should NOT go in with "Apache helicopters", but I don't have your encyclopedic knowledge of alleged incidents of government brutality.

This Rules of Engagement movie sounds like complete B.S. to me. Blockbuster? WTF? The last I heard, an independent investigation concluded that one of the tear gas cannisters might have started the fire, but that it was more likely set by the Branch Davidians as a final "F_ck you!" to the Agents of Satan.

I'm sorry but extremist right-wing militant groups don't get a lot of sympathy from me (minus the kids, of course). Left-wing militant groups? Not that's another story...

j/k. Actually, I think Mumia Abu-Jamal is a complete waste of space. If he's innocent, I'm a David Duke supporter.

Ronin it is interesting that you call something complete BS when you have not seen it. This was a documentary, and yes, many documentaries can be found in Blockbuster.

There was a lot of footage shot by a high flying plane using a special infrared camera and they even had the guy who DESIGNED and Patented this technology, analyze the footage (among others).

You go watch it and then tell me it is BS.
