Smile finding the balance

an ideal world for me would be to combine a good stand up art with BJJ, does anyone have an opinion on how to balance these two?
would you say 70/30 grappling standup or maybe 60/40?
let me know what you all think.
i'd like not to favour one over the other for fear of lacking in that area but my day only has 24 hours

Default Mixed Martial Arts& BJJ Frum

Hey Moe!!! NYUK,NYUK, NYUK!!! I couldn't resist I'm kinda a 3 stooges fan.
I would suggest Boxing, Muy Thai, Or Jkd. Hand speed & foot work in all finding the openings. MT devastating kicks elbow knees & in advanced techniques arm & head locks (beyond the clinch) & throws. Jkd cocentrates on power in the lead arm & leg shortening distance between you & opponentwith your lead strikes. Jkd keeps evolving As should all martial artists- self defense practitioners , fighters. use what works best for you eliminate what doesn't work , keep evolving.
Best of Luck ---Edge---

Don't ask people how you should spilt up your training. You should practice both standing and ground, but focus more on the one that you find more enjoyable. The one you like more is the one you will be able to advanced further in. If you prefer grappling study striking so you can grapple. If you prefer striking study grappling so you can strike. You should pick the one you like more, and study the other one so that you can make sure you are doing what your best at in a fight. Hopefully that makes sense. I'm really tired right now. There is no right way to spilt up your training. Just focus on the one you like more.
