Does anyone here practice Capoeira ??
I really like the moves and the flips that they do. How long does it take to back flip and somersault?? Has anyone used capoeira it in a real fight??

hehe..
yeah, i hear about how it was very popular in the late 70s and early eighties.. but its big now with youth like around my age.. its just now its changed a lot from what you guys know as breakdancing, a lot for acro batics, gymnastical moves, (we call them power moves), and things like that.. its a new school thing.. guys that did breakdancing back in the day wouldnt be able to do what we do.. |

Yo so you break Chopstix? Back in the day when I was in grade 7. My boys and I used to break a hella lot! It was popular in LA from grade 7-8 and now its sort of in a stalemate. In TO I dont really see any good breakers. Im really rusty in my moves, but I still can pull off some good top rock and handspins.
Chop, what are your favorite moves?? You have a B-boy crew? |

ABYSS????? Im going there next weekend!!!! Yo we should hook up some time and spread some MMA and B-boi love there!
That place used to really really suck with the 12 yearolds going there. But I hear these days the place is jumping! Your outta my league man, maybe I was comparable to you in grade 7 but now??? Blech! PS Downrock or (styles) was my thing too. Windmills took me FOREVER to get. Right now its a lost art for me... If you can pull of flares and a-tracks, I give U MAD PROPS!!!!!!!!!! Mucho respect! |

chopstix, actually a lot of the stuff young guys are doing is closer to locking as in poplocking or popping as it was called on the west coast, where as breaking was popular out east. i see young guys in the hip hop spots now locking and calling it breaking. in fact the guys that played in the movie breakin' were lockers but the mainstream just lumped everything together and gave it one generic name
