![]() | Wushu means War art or Martial art in chinese. Though the way the word is used today is to refer to the high flying national art of china. Its pretty cool to watch though not many fighting applications(yes there are some). They have forms competitions, coreographed fights, weapons etc.

Whoever declares that any weapon manufactured today, whether it be a nuclear missle or a .38 special, is created for self-defense should look a little more closely at his own image in the mirror. Either he is a liar or is deceiving himself. Wing Chun kung fu is a very sophisticated weapon--nothing else. It is a science of combat, the intent of which is the total incapacitation of an opponent. It is straightforward, efficient and deadly. If you're looking to learn self-defense, don't study Wing Chun. It would be better for you to master the art of invisibility - Wong Shun Leung |

| Registered User | watch a jet li movie. what you see is wushu. lots of crazy weapons, very acrobatic, next to zero combat application. makes you fast as lightning though. not really a martial art. you want to go into films or you're into aesthetics , take wushu. if not, stay away. ryan |
