Who Has The UFC Game?

I went out and bought that bad boy the day it came out. I am telling you this is the greatest game ever. I have friends coming over everyday to play this game. It never gets old. I get to beat on Militech every damn day. What else can I say.

For the rest of you who owns it? How much play does it get? Who is your favorite player?

I went out and bought a Dreamcast just to play this game (I bought the game too by the way). I LOVE IT.....it's sooooo damn addicting!

I WOULD change a few things, however. The "create a fighter" feature is too generalized. You can't really customize your moves list or anything like that. You also can't change the real appearance or physical stats of your fighter (which was a minor disappointment).

Also (to bitch some more), A couple of the armbars on the game are incorrect. I.E. the "rollover armbar" that a created Jiu Jitsu fighter will do while attacking the back mount....ends up without the far leg properly pushing the head back.....a formality, of course, but we nitpickers noticed it right away.

Also, a failure of a submission technique (i.e. Americana lock from the guard) will often result in the opponent's immediate successful guard pass....not that easy in real life, I'm afraid.

Overall, there is MUCH more good to this game than there is bad. I've already created the Ultimate Created Fighter, but I'm still learning the game, so he gets tapped out all the time.

I TRIED THE "BEST BUY" CHEAT CODE FOR THE CREATED FIGHTER, BUT IT DOESN'T SEEM TO WORK....IT'S "BEST" FOR THE FIRST NAME AND "BUY" FOR THE SECOND, RIGHT? I CAN'T GET IT GOING....IT'S SUPPOSED TO GIVE YOU 999 SKILL POINTS.

I had trouble with the code at first also but then my boy suggested you spell it like this. Best Buy. That is how you have to spell it. Then it gives you the points. I am kicking ass with Frank and Pete. All my boys come over to play this game. It is the greatest game I have ever played. If you need a moves guide go to http://www.mixedmartialarts.com then go to the section UFC Game. This guy put up a site for all the moves that is alot easier to read than the store bought guide.

I have it as well and bought the machine just too play. So far i havent got to play with anyone but even against the machine its a tight game. I love it.

Now I have a few new goodies to try out. Thanks for the info, all.

Being a 128-bit system (though there are experts that feel the Dreamcast isn't a "true" 128) there could have been more options as far as creating a fighter.

More options to customize would've made it the best game ever - bar none.

are they going to have the ufc game for playstation 2? im waiting to see if they do because then i will just ask for playstation 2 and the ufc game for christmas-if not then im gonna ask for dreamcast and the game

Overall I am happy with this game basically cos i have been waiting for a UFC game since who knows when...


But!!!
Some areas of the game HAVE to be changed for the future

1) create a fighter - able to edit heads, faces, clothes, moves more accurately...I want to be able to create Ken Shamrock, Tank Abbot, Mark Kerr etc...
The only real fighters you can create here seem to be...

Royce Gracie (jiu-jitsu type)
Rickson Gracie(normal type)
Alexander Karelin (wrestling type)
Sakuraba (normal type w/orange shorts)
Brian johnston( normal type w/ red
white and blue shorts)

Maybe some more..I'd like to hear your ideas...

2)I feel alot of fighters are too good...
Since when was Kevin Randleman a kicking expert?
When did Mark Coleman have a high kick?
Then the guys that are supposed to be good at stand-up
e.g Bas, Pedro,Mo Smith have slow sluggish weak
combo's......

3)There is NO SIDE MOUNT!!! there has to be a transition to side mount! How can you have an NHB game where the mount is more common than the side mount!

4)Why can the guy on the bottom KO a guy on top? Even when the opponent has your back you can swing an elbow powerful enough to KO him!?! WHAT THE???
KO's are too easy in this game....even in hard level.

A good game but more of an arcade feel..(probably for the non NHB fans that find long matches boring)
not realistic enough....maybe the next game should have a simulation mode?

Its either out or will be for playstation, but not playstation 2. Right now dreamcast is the way to go. There probably will be a Ufc2 sometime down the road though...
