is that how they phrase the process of 'cutting the cheese' in Jolly old England?

Seriously,

I agree wholeheartedly. Submissions are great for sport, but not self defense. You train on the ground so you can effectively defend and attack while rolling, to achieve the quickest possible end of an altercation. You want to stay up, but if you have to go down, you need to know what you're doing.

BJJ has been moving steadily more and more commercial since it came to the US. Someone needs to break the mold, go back to core BJJ and start teaching street applications.

Instead of armlock to submit, you armlock to break.
Instead of choke to tap, you choke to render unconscious.
Train the clinch to ground to mount back to either end the fight or resume the clinch.

I've said it before Brian, and I'll say it again: You need to start writing articles to post as opposed simply posting random thoughts on this forum.

I suppose all the fog has settled into the centre of your noggin?

Funnily enough a guy who writes every month for the biggest magazine over here told me the same thing. I am just so wonderful.

However, I have no formal high grade, and know a great many people who could quite easily beat me to death. So I would be struggling in the credibility stakes.

NOT if you write articles that express your opinion and perspective and clearly indicate that situation.

Having a 10th Dan Black Belt doesn't guarantee that you can fight, or defend yourself. Why should it be a prerequisite for writing an article?

I'm asking you to write one and I will be happy to provide the webspace.

Regards,

Spanky
