From what you have said you are not describing carpral tunnel syndrome which is caused by overuse. And you are not describing arthritis (stiff painful joints) as someone suggested above.

If you are concerned I would suggest speaking with a doctor or possibly a physical therapist to see if they have any ideas that will help in your situtation.

good luck, but don't let this slow you down on your training. Learn to use the tools you have, if your problem cannot be fixed don't worry about the tools you don't have.

Did they ever get it fixed? The nurse told me to go to a sports physician.

Sounds like I was off base. Question: do you compete? If this isn't a concern for you (allowed vs. disallowed moves), maybe you should think about changing your style to incorporate flat palm and finger jab techniques. Conversly, if you are striking the way you describe, you might want to work at becoming very, very accurate with your punches. Leading with the knuckle you are talking about and striking directly below the nose but above the upper lip (does anybody remember what that body part is called?) is very effective. A cross or hook punch that strikes just in front of the ear (where your jawbone connects with the rest of your skull, and where half the muscles of your face connect) is going to be more painful than a flat fisted strike. Lastly, a strike of any kind to the bridge of the nose not only causes extreme pain, it causes the eyes to water or shut tight. I'm sure you can see how that would be very effective. As far as training for this level of accuracy, the most skilled puncher I've ever met trains with a tennis ball on a rope. Learning to punch that tiny target has not only made him accurate, it's made him faster and more reactive.

they did go to physical therapy, but to my knowledge there was no treatment.

Ah, I went to a doctor today. She said my joints are full functional. She also said there were no fused bones, and that it was due to the tendons being stiff. So now I'm prolly gonna end up having a surgery done.

If you do have surgery I wish you luck and hope it turns out well.
But if you don't, palm strikes(when done correctly) can be just as powerful as a punch, if not more powerful. Chinese martial arts have plenty of this,(ex. Taiji Chin Na). Finger jabs can also be effective, because there so fast and when they make contact with the correct target it can sure take the fight out of someone or worse( throat, adams apple, eyes, etc.) And in one book I learned of a spot under the arm, when hit correctly with a finger jab, can cause a heart attack.

I would try to fix the problem, if that cannot be done, then I would just improvise and be the best fighter possible.

Well... I just got into a big fight with my mom. She sounded like she was supporting me, but she isn't. So I guess no surgery. I don't even know if I have to have a surgery. It could be just some medicine to loosen the tendons. Gawd I am ****ing pissed. I feel like drinking and driving, and then crashing, but we all know that ain't right....

who gives a F@!# if you cant make a fist.....consider yourself lucky if you never have to accualy use them....

do you beleave in god? if so...god made you that way...DEAL WITH IT.

if you dont beleave in god....wont matter either way, you still wont be able to make a fist.

stiff tendons? you cant strech them at all? i dout that......(be carefull not to rip em though...)

Then again...you could stop crying, wait some years until YOU can afford the sugery with your own money...

do you want to make the fist so you can punch people? or is it because you want to feel normal?

i dont see how what i was saying was equal to "his" mentality.....

iv seen what happens when people drive drunk my friend....it aint pretty, i personaly have no respect for anyone who has done it.
As far as people who WANT TO im sure you can guess how i feel about that.....words can be powerfull things.....i was just trying to let him know that.

it only takes a little bit of encouragement to make "im so pissed i feel like shooting those kids" turn into " A kid was shot today near his home in....."

Don't worry about it man. I just had my first bottle of beer last night, and then I surfed the net and went to bed. Platinum_Angel is right. People say the dumbest things when they're mad. I talked to my mom today and apologized to her. No, I'm not gonna shoot up my school wtf. I don't have as close to as many problems compared to those kids that do that sh1t. It's normal to get mad and say sh1t you don't mean no? I've never turned to physical violence in my life, except for my one cousin... We used to brawl a lot when we were 8th and 9th graders... (not like we gave each other black eyes even) but we don't fight anymore. Anyways, sorry about blabbin', and sorry if I have offended you, but you're better off telling the right person not to drink and drive, or not to shoot up schools. You don't need to tell me that, but thanks for your concern neways.
